I saw the article and commented on it. Don't think it should happen, heard him speak on a youtube video (I think about Taylor/Pavlik I) and he didn't sound too good.
Think if he wins they'll talk of a third fight with Hearns?

He is living in the gutter. Many Boxers seem incapable of investing wisely. This is why boxers should have 20% of every purse put into a regulated trust or pension

Apparently, Barkley is fighting at HW where fought for the last part of his career. Hearns last fought at Cruiser.

Both are fairly punchdrunk at this point.

Yeah, if Hearns were to fight Iran again, he would probably win and within 10 rounds. There'd probably be a catchweight or something, maybe be held in Detroit or close to. The thing is, I'm not sure if I would wanna see it. Sure it would be cool to see my favourite, Hearns, fighting for probably one last time to get revenge for 2 losses but then again, it's not the Hearns that used to be

    He's 47 or 48.

On the undercard is Saoul Mamby who is 59 years old.

Iran Barkley got his ass kicked on this very night fifteen years ago against James Toney. And to think he wants to make a comeback? :-(

I got to sit next to Barkley at Madison Square Garden for the Peter-McCline match. The Garden paid homage to a lot of former fighters that night all sitting in the front rows but Iran had to buy a ticket about 20 rows back. He was funny and engaging but totally shot. He slurred his words, was a bit incoherrent, and just looked physically like he was 100 years old. He didn't look at all like he was living the life of luxury, for what its worth so I'm not surprised at all that he needs money, but he looked in NO WAY like he should get back into the ring. He is an accident waiting to happen. I hope for his sake the rumors to him fighting again aren't true.

I remember seeing george foreman when he was about to make his 2nd comeback at 55yo.

It was after he quit HBO but he cameback for one night. He looked very slim maybe 240ish you could tell he was training hard for it but it fell through.

Barkley fought an exchibition fight a couple of years ago and he ALWAYS talks about a comeback... I have a huge respect for him and so has many people. If this comeback fight happends, then I am sure that they will find him a suitable opponent. Some out of shape novice... a bum, that even Barkley can beat.

I am sure that no promotor will put the Blade against any decent boxer.
