When you first start boxing what size gloves should one use?

    The owner gave me these 18oz gloves. He's not the coach just runs/owns the gym. I'm 5'8 200+.
    Aren't this more for working on power and endurance? Shouldn't I use smaller gloves for learning technique and speed (what size gloves for this)? Any thoughts?

    sounds about right for your size. you will see the benefits after a few weeks of use.

    That sounds about right. Don't quote me on this but I believe at that weight you'd be using 18oz or up
