Buddy McGirts Stoppage Was Terrible

I suppose the thread starter wanted him on the canvas unconscious like against Moore.

 

Seriously after what Juanma said last week. People still believe what a fighter is saying after he's been dropped hard.

 

Good stoppage. I think McGirt was out of water anyway.

 

Mossley your talking bollocks, Macklin had nothing left and it would have been dangerous to let him continue, the stoppage was spot on.

 

The chances of Macklin ending up badly injured were greater than the chances of him scoring a KO.
The downside of being badly injured are many times worse then the benefits of winning.

It was a great call and took guts. Nothing worse than corners who are as brave as **** putting thier fighters into situations- corners dont take punches! fighters will never quit, they need the decision made for them.

 

Wrong.

Macklin was behind on the cards and was getting the **** beaten out of him for the last minute of that round falling over twice and came back to the corner bruised, beaten and bloodied, behind on the cards, and with a 0% chance of winning in the 12th. Yer Buddy made the wrong decision atsch

 

It was a good stoppage Macklin didnt have enough left to KO Matinez, infact he didnt have enough at the beginning to KO Martinez, brave perfromance but once again just falling short.

The current crop of British middelweights are all just a bit short of being World Champions. Ive said it before and its very noticeable to me, the guys dont seem to be able to last for 12 rounds at a good pace, Martinez was still able to up the ante whereas Macklin was just getting tireder and tireder, they seem to have the ability to perfrom at that level but not for 12 rounds, not sure why that is but it cant be that difficlut to train for 12 hard rounds.

 

It was a good stoppage, I'm sure Macklins corner, family and fans didn't want to see him sent out for an inevitable 3 minute beatdown. He put in a fantastic performance, was completely overmatched and had no chance of winning the fight. All credit to him, he fought the best and gave a great account of himself, and he'll live to fight again.

 

I thought it was a great call to pull Matthew out.

I lost money as well as I had Brook and Martinez double to win on points.

sending him out for the 12th would have taking years off Macklin's career, Martinez would have iced him and there is no debate on that.

If those two KD's came earlier in the 11th there was no chance he would have survived the round, Martinez simply upped into 3rd gear.
