i know this isnt a for sure thing but mayorga could do some damage to cotto i mean hes a slugger with a pretty good chin also keey points... his best an stongest punch is the uppercut... which cotto in the last few fights has failed miserably at blocking plus hes been shaky in the past few fight with mosley an judah... i think cotto should win but i would give mayorga a good chance... also when he fights margo his best punch is the uppercut .. jus puttin it out there for disscussion

Mayorga is a crude mauler that can be stopped with skill and power the only way he gets over is when he lands a lucky one, or intimidates his adversary.
His Stamina lately isnt the greatest either, he was blowing hard against Vargas. He will hurt big time to make 147.

Yeah, but people forget Vargas was a damn good boxer. His taking a beating by ATG's does nothing to dimish how good he once was. I've been thinking a lot lately of why such a promising boxer just didn't make the cut against the big guys. Tito, not a lot of guys back then survived his horsehoe punches. Oscar, Vargas was winning the fight until Oscar turned it around with slick boxing and a beautiful combination/left hook. Shane, Vargas was a shadow of himself at this point. Nothing to take away from anyone, but the ****er beat Winky Wright!
In other words, I favor Mayorga.

Mayorga is very open to straight right hands and is very vulnerable to a body attack. He's strong and hits pretty hard, albeit he has no snap, but at 147, he'd be weaker and weight drained. Cotto demolishes him.

this is bad they are over looking gomez if a guy has 1 ko you dnt want to overlook him. thats bad but mayorga can change the fight with one shot i just think he beat mayo. but not to glad to hear they are overlooking gomez sound like an upset to me . i'll put 50.00 on gomez and 100 on cotto

bad fight for Cotto. A win for him would mean nothing, and there is a good chance that Wildman could land a haymaker.

Cotto should be able to tap that ass good but dont ever count out Mayorga just ask Vernon Forrest ask him what happens when u get a "win" over Shane Mosley then fight Mayorga.

Pointless fight IMO...but if it did happen I have to go with Cotto for the simple reason that Mayorga would not be the same if he dehydrated himself to make 147...I also don't think that Mayorga takes a body punch as well as punch to his chin...I can see Cotto taking Mayorga out through body work...that being said you should never count Mayorga out, he can land a lucky one just right

If this fight is at 147 i believe cotto destroys mayargo! but if its at 154 big advantage to the nicaraguan! cotto should make him kum down to fight for the belt.
