I have a weigh in on thursday and I'm not sure what is best to eat. I'm cutting about 5kg of water weight, so have started cutting today. Will run and epson salt bath tomorrow and hopefully be close to weight on thursday morning with the weigh in being thursday night.

what is the best way to rehydrate and put the 5kg back on by fight time?

i assume its a same day weigh in yes?
I'd suggest drinking a lot of water obviously but not too much that you feel uncomfortable and id also reccomend eating simple carbs because of how easily they are digested they will give the energy much faster then complex carbs would.

Then ignore my post if you have 24 hours to rehydrate. Simple carbs are more sugary e.g fruit juice, sweets etc things that are seen as bad because they are digested quickly where as complex carbs like wholewheat pasta, bread are digested slowly and give you "constant release of energy". Obviously if your fighting 2 hours after weighing in its better to have easily digested foods.
But if you have 24 hours drink alot of water but not all at once, try a lucozade sport or anything else with electrolytes (spelling??) to help you rehydrate and have a good meal. If you have time before bed have another meal. With the food and drink you will be eating in the morning afternoon before your fight you should have rehydrated.

Good tips from pichuchu. One of the most important things is not to eat or drink too much immediately after the weigh-in. The body gets used to little fluids and food, so you just have to take it easy.

Personally I like to get proteins and carbs into my system. Chicken with rice goes again.

Are things like pizza and pasta good to eat after the weigh in?
I don't usually eat pizza but I know it has lOts of carbs.
I will also drink electrolyte and Gatorade. I will also eat Lollies for glucose.

To be honest it doesnt really matter what you eat if u have a 24hour weigh in. Your prority should be water and electrolytes and then eat whatever you want. If its pizza you want then go for it
