Why do you hate Margo so much?

Well, he wasn't getting the fights that he wanted. He did what he felt was neccesary to get his name out there and convince the bigger names to fight him. It worked relatively well. I can't hate on the man for trying to boost his earning potential. Furthermore, when they asked him if Mayweather was scared to face him, he replied by saying something to the effect that fighters generally aren't scared of another fighter.

 

You don't think he gets way too much credit for being an average fighter at best?

 

I don't hate him but don't like him and his fans. He's a sore loser for one, like after getting beat by a green Williams in his post fight interview. The guy has little talent and fights dumb, can't cut off a ring and is one-dimensional. I can't stand when someone as unskilled as him is hyped up like he's some monster when he's clearly not. If he fights someone that can fight off their back foot, won't stand in front of him, can take a punch he will get outboxed badly and schooled. I would pick a number of boxers at 147 to give him a boxing lesson for example, Quintana, Collazo, Berto, Clottey, Cotto, PBF and Williams again. The guy isn't elite at 147 and will never beat an elite fighter there.

 

He really doesn't get all that much credit. He's not a great fighter, but he has a good chin, good stamina, and good power. That's enough to allow him to be competitive against almost anyone at WW

 

I disagree. Anyone that can fight off their backfoot he will struiggle with. He has to set his feet to throw and his workrate will drop much like Williams did against Quintana.

 

He lost to Williams then beats a bum and he's right back in there with Cintron with a chance to meet Cotto. You telling me he deserves all of this? Who has he ever beaten with anything more than a pulse other than Cintron?

There really aren't a lot fighters out there like that. As far as him never beating an elite fighter, I disagree with that. He could definately beat Williams in rematch, he could also beat Cotto as well as Quintana. I don't like Berto's chances against him and he's already beat Clottey.

 

Guzman should be higher than Taylor at least... all he does is win

 

He also beat Clottey and Andrew Lewis. Nobody else would give him a shot. Zab Judah ignored him, Floyd passed him over. Not everyone can just get in there and fight all of the big names. Margarito has now made a name for himself and he's finally getting the opportunities that he's worked years to achieve. This guy has been a pro since he was 15. So yes, I believe he deserves every opportunity he gets. Remember, Cintron was the one who called out Margo. Just because someone loses 1 fight doesn't mean they should just be completely written off.
