Nishioka deserves a big fight. He's been around forever and has put together a damn good run.

 

Right there with you on that. He's proven himself against better opponents and for a longer period of time than Rigondeaux.

Hopefully he can get his chance to really shine under the spotlight. I've always liked Nishioka.

 

Well, he was expected to smash his last two by the majority, and he did not. I wouldn't count my unifications before they hatch. Let's remember, Donaire's in his fourth weight class and hasn't lost in, what, ten years? The perception is that he's a young man, because he's in his late twenties and he's performed so well for so much of his career that the expectation is he's going to have everything he wants by the balls. Another title, another weight class, whatever he wants. Maybe he's really more at the end of his rope and about to hit a wall than just beginning...:err Regardless, Nishioka has been battling around for years, had a big championship trilogy-er-no-qu-...quadrogy(sic?) before he even became champ. If he wants to retire soon, I don't blame him. If this doesn't come off, I'm not throwing around the 'd' word. Sometimes it just doesn't happen and you can't throw it all on one fighter. Especially when we have promoters.
