Why not? Grant needed championship rounds to land cleanly on exhausted Botha, and on couple of ocassions he was close to being down himself.

Botha is back on March 31 taking on France-based Cameroonian Carlos Takam (24-1) over 12 rounds. I believe the fight is for Takam's WBO Africa title. Takam is ranked #8 by the WBO.

Takam's best win to date was a 6th round stoppage on Gbenka Oloukun in April 2011. His only loss was a narrow 8 round points defeat to Gregory Tony in 2009.

    Thoughts?

Didnt see this one coming! If Botha wins does that mean he will be rated by the WBO?!

I know nothing whatsoever about Carlos Tamak. But you would think he would be a bit green at the moment. But we will see.

Go Botha! Could be back in the WBO top echelons!

Not that leniant me thinks. Botha's last two fights. A win against an upcoming heavywieght Flo Simba, albeit not a massive name.As for his last a fight he was winning on all scorecards till the ko. Past they his best? Not sure if Botha in his past was any better than his last two fights (or in better shape). By all counts he outboxed grant for 11 rounds. He always tired later on. Look at much earlier fights in his career that is is tendancy. I say until he is bowled over easily by someone then he should retire. But i dont think thats is going to happen against Tamak!

    Go Botha!

In his prime botha was an underrated fighter!
But i have no desire to see him get knocked out over and over again
Good luck to him in his next fight though! Never heard of carlos takam

I am going to be confident. I think Botha is getting a win here. This could give him a top 15 WBO ranking. Then goodness knows where he could go. Go Botha!

Anyone else think this could be a good night for Botha and a route to a real world title fight??!!
