That's a good comparison, but also, maybe, someone in that weight class, and it might be because of the facial hair, but a bit like Jorge Linares. Good fighter, nice skills, but a bit vulnerable.

I actually edited my post before you posted that to include a bit about linares

With out a doubt there is talent there but...something...is missing and I don't just think it's power and a solid chin.

 You did, didn't you? You cheeky little ******. But yeah, I agree. I was really high on Magdaleno, but his last three fights, including this one, has me backing up a bit. He'll definitely win a belt because he is talented and 130 is a weak division. But being the absolute top dog? Probably now. It benefits him that he is with Top Rank and Broner is with Golden Boy. :yep

All fighters are vulnerable in some ways at this stage. I think with his vulnerabilities, Magdeleno has more assets to outweigh them. And, the most important thing is the guy showed some serious fire tonight. Once he was knocked down, he got pissed off and came at Beltran harder. Stopping a game veteran who's never been stopped (and who has fought a young Joan Guzman included) is a nice achievement for an up and comer.

He shouldn't be getting dropped by 122lbs fighters, that's not just being vulnerable that's worryingly vulnerable. He stands too square on and will get caught by a much harder puncher than Beltran who took the fight on like 3 days notice

Jose Roman chickened out of the fight after the weigh in apparently.

    Javier "Pelos" Garcia was spewing.
