So do people think Foreman-Moorer was a dive?

People were bringing this up in the Kimbo dive thread (which I think was a dive with out question) and I was just wondering what the overall opinion from fans are on the Forman Moorer KO.

the punch was clean but didn't look TOO devastating in real time. In the replay it looks brutal, hard, and landed right on the tip of the chin. Moorers mouth was filled with blood and he looked like he was out of it when he sat up, didn't look like he was acting at all. KO looks legit to me.

i think Moorer was badly hurt prior to the last shot and the last shot kinda just put him down

he also hit his head on landing which does more damage

Foreman has always been a little bit of an arm puncher

Kimbo had nothing on that shot and the guys reaction looked acted

i dont think a guy would tank it on purpose for the belt vs a 45 yr old man after a bad blood press conference

this was a crappy 4 rounder

Moorer himself said that he was out from the first right hand. the second just helped him down.

Foreman was from the 70s. What do you expect? Shavers could have knocked out Moorer with a quarter strength jab with only 2 inches of punching space.

Moorer has said in interviews that the right had at :14-:15 was the punch that did most of the damage. He says he was out on his feet after that.

This is 100 percent a legit KO

PS - One of my favorite moments in sports history is Foreman looking up to the heavens for just a second after he won, almost like he didn't believe it himself.

This was much more suspect than Kimbo's fight. Kimbo's uppercuts were so quick that people didn't even see them and only saw one. That's why the 2 uppercuts just looked like one slow one

    co-signed :deal

PS. If you have doubts if it was legit, watch closely. If you still have doubts, stop thinking that you know boxing.

It looks suspect because of the apparently "lazy" way Foreman threw that punch (also because of the untypical way Moorer falls actually). But when you watch replays, it is not suspect at all.

Lol is this really a question? ****ing of course that KO was legit. Foreman buried Moorer, and I was a huge Moorer fan. Still am.

I've always thought it was a dive.....George had the dough to make it look suspicious.

George got to the right Champion at the right time in history. He took 3 punches all night to land one. Finally he was able to land 4 consecutive and it did the job.

A moment in history when the impossible suddenly became altogether possible.:bbb

Was legit. Moorer stood to gain NOTHING at all from taking a dive.

I don't think it was a dive, but I can understand why people think it was. The punch didn't look that hard. I think it is more a testament to the unbelievable power of George Foreman to do that kind of damage with such a short right. Supposedly, Moorer's mouthpiece got broken in half by the shot. Teddy Atlas talks a lot about it in his book. It was an unbelievable shot. Unbelievable power in such short distance. Big George got both cheeks into that one.

Kimbo's opponent's head snaps back by the shot. He was out. No question.
