Did anybody else notice shortly before him knocking morales down, Garcia looking at his corner for a good 4 seconds? I dont know what to make of it, but it kind of look like he was doubting himself a little.

I am really not impressed with that kid yet

He looked pretty bad in there at times, way too inactive. A busy, fast guy like Khan beats him up pretty badly I think.

Seems to have some Rocky Juarez in him. Both guy when they throw look good and do damage but aren't willing to throw the punches.

His body language definitely betrayed some self doubt at times. Morales is great at taking away your best weapons and getting inside your head.

He almost always wins the war of wills. In this case, youth and ability were just stacked too heavily on Garcia's side for Morales' superior willpower to make the difference.

Credit to Garcia for not caving under that mental pressure, either. Sure he looked a bit nervous at times and let Morales abuse him with the jab and win a few rounds, but he hung in there and kept doing good work. Not a pretty performance overall, but effective. And it earned him a massive glittering ornament to top off his resume so far.

If Morales took his health seriously like JMM who takes care of himself miles ahead of his Mexican counterparts, he could have been at the top alongside JMM at this stage... but he left partied up for years ruined his body and came back, and his skills are not enough to negate his conditioning deficiencies. Plus all the draining he did early on to be the bigger man, ruined his condition even more.

Morales needs to get a special "angel" to guide him if he wants to compete against JMM.

He has always been able to whip himself into remarkable fighting shape in spite of all that.

Dude has an incredible work ethic...except when he doesn't. :yep

He needs to be matched carefully.

Hopefully the old saying about a title making a fighter better is true, you could tell how badly he wanted it.

There should be a gif of morales mocking him and also of when he at the end of one of the middle rounds was basically standing still looking at garcia who was swinging and missing a few big punches.
It definitely didnt go as smooth as many predicted pre-fight.

He must be a cheat. You can't do that to Morales without cheating.:nono
On a more serious note,he seems to be lacking a certain something.I was surprised at the scores, but I felt Erik was tireing and vulnerable at times from halfway through the second round.Morales has picked his fights perfectly lately, and I think Garcia is a tad beneath the bigger names at the weight.
