i flew up for the fight yesterday. johnson was never ever in trouble, didnt even get out of first gear until the 8th and 9th rounds. the difference in class was blatant. alex has zero head movement. even when he pinned johnson to the ropes johnson just rolled with all the shots and rarely got hit flush. after the 4th round it wasnt a question of who would win, it was just a question of when did johnson want to seal the deal
in round 2 when Alex caught him on the ropes the ref said after the fight if Alex had threw afew more power shots at KJ he would of stepped in...hats off to KJ.
General admission was $50 bucks and they had a decent turn out. 1000-1500 would be my estimate. It was a good arvo. A few slow fights along the way but some exciting talent on display, as well. Takashi Sugiura was the undercard standout, imo. Very fast southpaw and doubles his power hand beautifully. One to watch.
heard a lot about this guy, even down here...so was looking forward to having a look. terrific left hand, fast and hard and very aggressive, but controlled aggression.. one problem - he does get hit a bit too much
it was the worse possible style of fighter for alex to face. i'm still shocked his team chose kevin for the next step up.
I was up at the fight KJ was hurt from a overhand rights and caught with the uppercut but Alex backed away, well done to alex for stepping up I think its time to head to the america. He'll come back strong and experience to take in.Good on Noel for making it happen in aussie soil,Kevin said after the fight this ******* is hard to stop credit to no else wants to fight him in the states and europe.
LOL was thinking Leapie V Walker but yeah that would a good match up espec if Freight Train keeps training 100% hard :bbb
