Teddy Riner is a French judoka, he has been world champion several times ans is probably favorite to take the gold in London. He's built like a tank (6ft8 & +/- 300lbs) but I on't think he has a serious boxing background . :think Also he's 22 year old.

What do you guys thing about this ?

anythings possible... Judo takes great reflexes. And if he were to start fighting next year, he would end up being 27 or 28 years old by the time he was anything like ready to box at a decent level professionally. Still pretty young and he has such size. BUT, he would be a very late starter. I wish him well in 2012 an the rest of his sporting life...

22 seems a bit old to start...that said, he has a background in combat sports. Judo isn't really played at range though, and a big guy like that would have to learn to use his height.

Exactly my opinion. Teddy "bear" is a quality sportsman and he deserves all the support. :good So I wish him well anyway.

Also he's a close friend of the French Tyson so maybe he could give him some good advices. :yep

However, isn't he better off trying MMA?

Dude weighs more than 300 pounds, he'd struggle to make it to 265.

The sport where he doesn't have to lose 40 pounds and you get breaks every three minutes.

I would love to see him fight mma, if there wasn´t that unnecessary weight limit for HW

needs to lose alot of muscle 1st. Probably should start training and running for 2 years and let his body get naturally leaner 1st.
