With time, do you think Haye will regret never getting in there with Vitali?

Vitali actually feels justified that he could've beat Lewis.

Haye is deluded if he thinks he ever could've done anything at the top level of Heavyweight.

I'm no Vitali fan by any means but he'd make Haye cry like the little ***** that deep down, he really is.

He took three years before having the stones to step in with Wlad, preferring to appear on chat shows and talk about ''ridiculous demands'', when the only thing ridiculous was the man himself.

Whilst Wlad is the better of the two brothers, he's less likely to damage someone. All David was bothered about was getting in the ring and back out with his money, and take as little punishment as possible. The result didn't bother him one jot, he'd already sold himself out by that point.

 

I disagree here. Whilst more 'timid', Wlad hits so much harder than Vitali I would rather get hit by ten Vitali punches than one of Wlad's :scaredas:

 

On the other hand, would you rather get stopped like Mormeck or take the beating that Briggs took because Vitali didn't have quite enough power to finish him off? :think

 

How can he regret it when he's wanted the fight?

Granted, but Vitali wouldn't fight Haye the way Wlad did, he wouldn't be worried about getting hit.

I think Haye would fold under the mental pressure that he'd be put under.

Don't really get your point. If he didn't get paid he wouldn't have fought Wlad? Well, yeah.

He hasn't turned down an offer from Vitali, what is there to regret? Not making himself a mandatory? If that's the situation we're considering, no I don't think he'll regret it.

 

More that he'd wrung it out as much as he possibly could before actually getting in there, as many people wanted him to get laid out as opposed to wanting him to win..... all equals more PPV sales of course.

If it wasn't so lucrative as to be a ''cash out'' fight, he wouldn't have taken it. He'd have fought a few more fringe contenders and then packed in.

There's nothing to say he hasn't turned down an offer, it's all posturing from both sides but the man is full of ****, not sure if he even believes what he says to be honest.

I agree though that he won't regret it, he's got nothing to gain from coming back, though he's got little to lose admittedly.

I hope he sticks to his word and stays retired, and opts for a career in reality TV like Alex Reid or whatever his name is. That's about all he's worth.

 

Not sure about that. Before Setanta's collapse, Haye was well up for going straight in with Wlad. Ok it didn't happen but it's pretty harsh to blame Haye for that IMO. Then he just went the business route of going for money, like pretty much every other boxer in history.

 

Has he come out and said he will never fight Vitali?

Anyways taking away the Haye hate, I reckon he could have a shot at beating Vitali. ****ing Chisora had a crack and even won a few rounds, I think Haye is levels above Chisora and would do better in the ring than him. Vitali is over 40 and his recent opponents havent been much cop at all, in fact he hasnt fought anyone as dangerous to him as Haye in nigh on 10 years. Im not saying haye is better than him just that its a good fight.

 

Na, Haye is a fraud, rubbish boxer, all hype, blah blah blah.

 

To be fair he really believes he could beat vitali he would take what was on offer and then make another killing in a rematch with wlad, he seems to be holding out for as much as he can because if he loses he is done for good. That makes me think he is doubting himself already.

That said the version of vitali now haye could maybe pot shot his way to a close decision because vitali looked very old against chisora and would struggle with hayes speed. He is a greedy ***** though and i would like vitali to put him on his arse!

 

Setanta going to the wall was the best thing for Haye in hindsight.
