Cotto is no longer ferocious/durable enough to put up a decent fight. His leaky defence, increased aversion to being hit, and not-so-great footwork, will give Mayweather plenty of success.

 

Mosley never stopped throwing punches, he was just to unfit and not sharp enough to land clean. Mosley was never really badly hurt..? like he was against Manny Pac.

Oscar De La Hoya was never hurt by Mayweather.

 

Mayweather struggled against Ricky Hatton, its a complete and utter myth that he dominated Ricky Hatton, 1-2 rounds in it............."Before the knock-out"

Mayweather is not having a easy night, with Miguel Cotto.

 

Having the same mannerisms to cotto and fighting like him are two different things. He doesn't have anywhere near the same punch selection for a start. That said mayweathers system of fighting looks really suited to cotto's throw- walk style. Bad fight for Miguel I feel this one. :-(

 

You need to rewatch both fights.
This fight will only LOOK competitive while Floyd takes a look, then its an exhibition.

 

Cotto won't be able to just walk thru mayweather though,you keep mentioning hatton but how did that end up. That wasn't to do with just tiring taking clean hard counters was the more likely cause.

 

Oscar was a couple of times shook by Mayweather right hands, hit him flush and he looked shook to his boots.

Floyd Mayweather did not shake De La Hoya to his boots..? We know he is unbeaten, we know he has got a great defence, but he has got weaknesses.

And his punching power is one of them, his reluctantness to follow up on his single shots, a 2 punch combination is 95% of the time the most we will get out of Mayweather. This format of fighting is working against Most fighters today, but i will go down on record saying........"That format will not work with such fighters like Amir Khan, and there is a chance at 154, that it might not work or go so smoothy against Miguel Cotto"

He won a split decision vs Oscar De La Hoya, and it was not even the best Oscar De La hoya, mentally De la Hoya was hesistant and slow thinking.

He struggled against Ricky Hatton, stumbling, backing up, it was by no means! a performance where you thought to yourself..? Ricky Hatton looks miles apart! he does not belong in that ring.

Shane Mosley was just too slow, old, and unfit. He was knocked down, he was not shook to his boots, he did'nt look to survive like he did against Manny Pac........"He kept on coming to the end"

And in his last fight! For as long as if lasted it was a competitive fight. Ortiz did land, did rough Mayweather up, and in terms of boxing IQ, which people go on about so much..? Ortiz is not the most advanced when it comes to the sweet science.

Its not going to be a easy night vs Miguel Cotto, a motivated, physically fit Miguel Cotto.

Even if Miguel Cotto does not win! Mark my words! He's getting hurt in this fight..........."Physically".
