Well I thought Sergei would outbox the big guy but now I think he's not taking this fight seriously enough judging from his extra weight.

    Valuev by late TKO

Same here,Liakhovich has always looked a bit soft and the extra 13lbs could leave him a bit sluggish.Valuev's surprising stamina will help him to a late round tko

Agreed. He should be around the 230 mark. This weight will not help him at all.

Liakhovich is too heavy..i'm sure he's taking the fight seriously but boxers often make the mistake of thinking that they need to be heavier when fighting taller opponents. Chagaev showed the style needed to beat Valuev and at 250 there's no way Liakhovich can do it.

the weight worries me a bit.

but he didnt look fladdy. maybe its strategy to be able to hold his own in the clinches a bit better.

and there is a rumor that valuev is on the way down. at his age and long career it would only be understandable. he turned pro in 92.........that is 16 years.

and if bergeron, a fighter a few levels below the white wolf can run him so close.......hmmmm....

the secure pick would seem valuev by ud. he is the house fighter in germany and that is a big factor.

remember: donald and ruiz beat him, but didnt get the decision.

but in the end one should hope for valuev to win. cause i think him fighting chagaev again will be more interesting than liakhovich vs chagaev.

but one think is for sure: IT WILL BE ONE UGLY FIGHT TO WATCH!

    Valuev UD

I think Sergei outboxes him in some rounds, but down the stretch, I expect Valuev to outwork Sergei and show he's in better shape.

I don't think the weight is that big of a deal in this case.

What this comes down to is skill. Liakovich has it, Valuev doesn't.

    Liakovich by decision.

I thought the same and based on Serguei's inability to move fast on his feet at 250 and to take big thumping punches like Briggs'. But Serguei may think he has a chance of getting in between Nicolay's arms and use superior reflexes to consistently beat him to the punch inside - the weight would be to help him not to get pushed around and put outa position easily by the massive Valuev. Bergeron, Ruiz, Donald, all went twelve rounds with Nicolay so Serguei may probably be able to do it and if he can outpunch him... Lyakhovich still by decision.

Liakhovich can beat Valuev only by KO or TKO. I dont think this hapend.

    Valuev UD!!!

Boxer who have Geman promouter 99% will win by points in Germany.

Exactly! That what I thought after the weigh-in. 250 pounds? So it's gonna be a Valuev win but we just can't predict exactly HOW BAD Serugei will be... My pick would be Valuev UD12, but it's hard to predict how awful Lyakhovich will be...

Shame on him, he had the chance to pull it off... I even considered putting money on him but 250 pounds is too hot for me.
