Nobody looks good against Mayorga. Cotto was younger when he fought Manny, but his technical preparation was horrible. He had a myriad of mistakes that his corner was blatantly ignoring, came in with a bland Plan A with no Plan B, and regardless of how the catch-weight actually affected him, there is no doubt 154 will help him train strong without worrying about cutting down. His fundamentals have been reinforced, his physical conditioning made much more intense, his offense has become much more dynamic, his movement has become much more fluid, and his confidence is at an all time high. Regardless of Margarito's condition, he was basically the same fighter with the same set of tools, and Cotto completely outclassed him by showcasing the changes that he had made from their first fight, and fought much smarter.

I believe you underestimate with the right preparation can do. Preparation is everything in boxing.

But I'll repeat; how Floyd wins (if he does) and what the fight looks like has a lot to do with how the public will rate the victory. I doubt Cotto's going to eat lots of sharp punches, retreat and become gunshy early, but if he does, people will claim once again that he is shot.

All of these options are bull****. The correct answer is: No, since Floyd will never get any credit whatsoever no matter what he does.

If he stops him early yes, but Manny just so thoroughly outclassed and exposed Cotto that it's hard to top.

Let me ask you something though because it seems that your a die hard Pacquaio fan and you don't want Floyd to get any credit if he were to win. What if Cotto does win(or loses the fight real close) and he fights better than you think he will, what will be your take on it Gander?

I give Mayweather props for going at him full strength now. Its gonna be interesting though cause pre_margacheato cotto circa 07 was such a force.

  13. Floyd always struggles vs shot tomatoe cans. Cotto should have a field day. Oscar on his last legs of boxing was able to press Floyd and win 5 rounds.

pac beat a prime cotto at his prime weight class. 154 is not cotto's best weight. he went up because he just got clobbered by pacquiao. if anything, cotto would be slower at LMW than he was at WW and he would be 3 years removed from his prime with lots of wars.

also point to the fact that pac just moved up from LWW to meet cotto, an elite WW that time at one of boxings best division. pac is just a 2-1 favorite while floyd now is an overwhelming favorite to beat this version of cotto.
