Joe Lewis lossed to Rocko Marcian when he was sixty-five years old.

To end this controversy. They both need to fight each other again.

Don't be so stupid for the people who thought that Vitali was winning the fight. It was just round 6 not round 11 or 12 when the fight was stopped. If the fight had continued, Vitalid couldn't have survived through the final round. Got that?

I watched the fight again, and yes Lewis did hit Vitali with that overhand right. However, from what I saw, the blood didn't start flowing until when they got into a clinch, and Lewis violently grazed Vitali's eye again with his glove in the clinch. For me that was a cheap move.
Also Vitali at that point was still somewhat inexperienced, I think Vitali got better and more experienced as he got older. I don't think an older wiser Vitali would have been hit by that shot.

    God not this again...

Yes he won the fight oficially however Vitali made a VERY good account on himself in that fight.

You can argue that Lewis was "shot" and so on. I think he just underestimated Vitali and didn't train like he should. Why he first promised a rematch and then retired isn't because he was afraid he was the UNDISPUTED HW champion. You aren't afraid of no one you are WAY past that point.

I just simply think it was like he said, he acomplished everything he wanted. He beat the guy on cuts and he didn't feel he had to rematch him. He had already done everything needed of him.

However you can't deny that Vitali came on strong in the fight and pushed Lewis back. Funny thing is that the last round Lewis landed a monster uppcut and forced Vitali to grab on.
