    Chinny? at 147? GTFOH W/ t BS!

He lost one fight at 47 to the arguably the greatest fighter to ever lace the gloves. And he was stopped in the goddamn 14th. After out boxing him.

Hearns would destroy either guy. And for the record, Bob Arum wouldn't let Pac within fifty miles of Thomas Hearns.

Don't be a **** man. Facts are facts, Tommy was far from bulletproof. Believe it or not, he usually doesn't make top 10 in ATG ww lists. If u don't believe me google it and don't argue with me, argue with ring magazine.

I am not so sure especially about Hearns, this guy was a monster ok but offensively, both Pacquio and Mayweather are very good punchers and faster than Hearns, they could hurt him and knock him out.

They are not faster than Hearns. Leonard himself was not faster than Hearns, which is why Ray had so much trouble with him. But Leonard can deliver a faster 3 punch combination than Hearns and fight faster on the inside with short punches, but Hearns long punches and jab are just as fast or maybe more than Ray. That is why Duran could not deal with Hearns. Speed.
I remember reading in Sports Illustrated in 1981 how Cus Damato didn't like Hearns delivery. It was interesting. I was young at the time but I still remember the comments. He said most fighters have a ta ta ta delivery. Hearns was ta ta ta like it was out of the normal delivery pattern. But Hearns outsped Benitez,Leonard and Hill. What gave Hearns trouble is guys who made it a brawl and would take his 2 punches to land one. They got close to not give Hearns as much leverage and they got that one punch in and made it a brawl. Obviously this did not work as much at 147 and 154 since Hearns hit harder in comparison to the guys there then when he moved up. Hearns usually won like against Roldan, but Hagler came through. I don't think Mayweather has a chance with his style. I don't think he would know what to do against Hearns. Pacman? Too small but more of a warrior.

As a big Tommy Hearns fan myself, I really enjoy reading your posts, 'Whipdatass' is clearly about 13 years old :good

What fighters over the last 10 years between 147-154 do you think give Tommy a tough fight? Do you think any may have been capable of beating him? I think Hearns is no.3 H2H for me at WW, beyond only SRR and SRL, and I still think he beats SRL over 12 rounds.

Hearns was never chinny he just took a lot of heavy blows and heavy blows were needed to knock him out. He was tough as hell and is only a notch or two below the greatest of all time.

Hearns does a Duran on both these guys.

Okay fair enough but.....FLoyd started his career at 130 lbs and Pac started you know where. There's kinda some structural factors working in Tommy and Ray's favour....

Hearns is a nightmare for Floyd. The reach, the speed, the power, the jab, the general boxing ability...if you were to fashion a fighter perfectly suited to beating Floyd, you would probably come out with something like Hearns. Floyd won't be able to outbox him on the outside, and if he tries to walk him down he'll be walking right into fast power shots. His defence and general ability will keep him competitive, but he's not winning this one. He loses on points, unless he gets hit with a real bomb.

Pac is also facing a monster in Hearns, but I think his style is actually more effective for this fight. He has power, speed, aggression, constant combinations and the southpaw stance to add extra awkwardness. It's likely that Hearns KO's him due to Pac's lack of defence and recklessness, but I could also imagine Pac hurting Hearns. Gotta go with Hearns, though. He'll probably win via KO.

Mayweather vs Leonard would be more competitive than the Mayweather vs Hearns bout. In the first few rounds Leonard will struggle to get through his defence, and will probably miss a fair amount. Floyd will hit him with some good single shots here and there, but not enough to discourage Leonard. In the middle of the fight Leonard will become more aggressive, using his quick feet and hands (plus the jab) to back Mayweather to the ropes before unleashing combinations. Mayweather will feel the urgency and start throwing combinations of his own, but this might get him caught. At some point Leonard will hurt Mayweather. Leonard will either get a late stoppage or a points victory. Probably the latter.

Pac vs Leonard...would be entertaining. Both guys are fast combination punchers. I think Pac would hit Leonard with good shots, but his aggression will probably get him stopped again in this one, as Leonard has power of his own, and the boxing skill to counter Pac and make him look bad. His footwork around the ring in particular will drive Pac crazy, if Leonard chooses to use it. Either way, he wins.

I think Mayweather and Pac have a better shot against Duran and Benitez.
