Neither of these guys has a defense, I think at this higher weight it's just a matter of who gets caught standing flatfooted at the wrong time. I'm rooting for Taylor though, gifts or not he did help free the middleweights from those two "great defensive" round counters that were killing the division.

You guys are wrong. Kelly is going to be a machine at this weight.

Taylor has already been exposed as a fighter with athletic skills, toughness, heart and a low boxing IQ.

Losing to Pavlik doesn't make you a bad fighter.

The guy went 24 rounds with Hopkins and even if you think he was given gift decisions that still doesn't mean he's a bum or average.

Taylor is a way above average fighter with below average boxing instincts. Strong, good athlete.

Maybe he did....from what I saw he was hanging on for dear life but that doesn't bother me, the man toughed it out where many others would have been KO'd and I won't discredit him for that. What I can't understand is people dissing Taylor as a nobody because he lost....Taylor is no Hagler we all know that but neither is Pavlik.

Taylor is much bigger than Hagler and has faster hands.

Taylor must stick and move to try to avoid the power of Pavlik

So was Hearns, and it did him about as much good as it would do Taylor if he'd ever faced the marvellous one, I ****ing guarantee that much.

What is it with fight fans these days, obsessed with height and speed like they're both the be all and end all?

taylor won't be able to stick and move the whole fight I gaurantee it. It'll come down to banging it out. whoever bangs the hardest will win.

Yes it was, and yes he was. I've got no problem debating these fights but when people say fighters like Taylor are 'average' I get my argument hat on....you don't have to be an all time top 5 middleweight to be champion but just getting there makes you a damn good fighter in my opinion. I wouldn't even describe champs I hate like WALDO or Calslappy as 'average', to do so would be wrong.

No, Hearns was taller and had a longer reach. But Hearns was a spindly legged welterweight who moved up to middle. Taylor is naturally bigger and stronger than Hearns.

Look pal your argument is well balanced and knowledgable. There are certain people who don't like Taylor (for many a reason). He lost to the better fighter last time out, but is still a top middleweight. Imo he will win tonight. Won't go into the reasoning but I think he will.

Exactly. Taylor is, and always has been, an HBO-created FRAUD. Without the gift decisions, he would be considered as exactly what he is - ORDINARY.

And when he gets starched again tonight, that will pretty much be the way he IS regarded.
