Both would've gotten their ass beat by Roy. I doubt Nunn or Liles beat the guys the TS mentioned as well.
I like Fabulous Frank Liles and he had a war with Tim Littles the rematch and defending the Title he won from Steve Littles who won it from Michael Nunn. I believe Nunn beat Liles but the judges saw it bothewise. It's difficult comparing all these guys but at that point, Nunn was not at his best, he already had shown to crack into pieces by the hands of Toney and just like he did to Kalambay. Nunn lost at LHWT to German favourite Graziano Rochigianni in Germany and Eubank defended his WBO SMW title sucessfully there. Also Nigel Benn made very short work of Iran Barkley ( 1st round KO) who pushed Nunn to a 12 round MD in one of Nunn's WBA SMW Title defenses. So nothing, really nothing gives us a proof that either Liles or Nunn would do well against Eubank and Benn, by the opposite in a matter of fact, and I really don't think those guys were up to the dynamics of Calzaghe to be honest. They were rangy, tall and skillful boxers at 168 pounds, nothing else.
If we're using selective boxing arithmetic, Liles dominating Amaral (who lost a debatable decision to Eubank) proves that he was a better boxer than Eubank. He also handled Seillier better than Collins did, who beat Eubank and Benn twice. Of course, none of this is proven, but it's no less flimsy that the conclusion you drew from the fights you mentioned above. I think it's clear from the fights each had around the mid 90s that there wasn't a great deal between Liles, Eubank and Benn, and any combination of fights would have been competitive. Liles would have presented stylistic difficulties for both, and was clearly better than the likes of Galvano and Close, who gave Benn and Eubank plenty of trouble. Personally I think Liles would have done enough to outpoint Eubank (whether he would have got the verdict is a different matter). I think Benn pre-McClellan would have got to him and stopped him - Liles struggled with aggression as shown in the second Littles fight and his loss to Mitchell. Likewise Collins would probably outwork him. Nunn is another matter - by this point he was washed up and wasn't a major threat. Outside of Jones obviously, Calzaghe was the best of the era at 168, and would be favoured against anyone bar Roy.
Michael nunn was **** hot, slick and black as they come, could well have won Benn, but his chin was questionable, Eubank i'm not too sure. One thing I do know is he wasted his pure innate talent and we all know where he is now....second to nunn
