The argument has been made that the Amateur system was better fit to prepare fighters to be Pros.

    Hmmmm, maybe

Absolutely. Current Am boxing is really just a boring uninteresting slapfest. Doesn't really fell like boxing at all.

If they want to keep the head gear, I'm fine with that but the point system has to go. It really undermines how pro fights are scored and churns out ill prepared fighters.

How was Amateur/Olympic Boxing scored before the change. I rember a 20 point must system, but like the curent scoring system. It was based on punches landed and only punches landed.
Pro boxing scoring is much more complex than just punches landed.

Roy Jones being a prima donna, and refusing to leave ring after he lost decision in olympics led to changing to the current **** system.

Bad decisions still happen, but amateur boxing at Olympic level is a game of tag now. They need to tell outsiders to **** off, and have boxing people run the sport. I can't even watch olympic boxing. Heavyweight finals, a 2-1 bout---3 punches landed whole fight? Who wants that?

You ****ers always talk down on amateur boxing and you haven't even watched it in 4 years. If you have a downer like Teddy Atlas as a commentator and America being **** in the amateur game of course you won't like it.
Stop talking all this nonsense about it being a game of tag and being nothing like pro boxing. That's absolute nonsense.
After the olympics the head guard is gone and bouts will be scored like pro bouts and I bet you dumb shits will still say that it's not boxing.

yes, because the nation of South Korea paying off the judges(and they were caught doing this) was such a minor trivial thing for Roy Jones to complain about, hell it probably didn't matter the guy who won probably went on to have a Great Career.

Oh wait, the guy sucked so much ass that he went on to be a gym teacher at an elementary school. ATG Gym Teacher.
