Is there anybody here that feels Marquez won the first JMM/Pac fight?

Pac won the first 2, Marquez won the next 4, and they split the last 6.

    114-111 Pac

    114-113 Marquez

    116-112 Marquez

JMM is Manny's foil...but they have always had good, hard fought fights.

i have so much respect for both of these guys but i haven't gotten down to rewatching any of the fights, as good as they are. same as with mab-em, i may disagree with the results of the first two fights, but my respect for both is the same. the official results don't seem to matter much. the 3 fights between pac and jmm only show how tough a match up they are for each other.

I'm gonna watch and score fights 2 and 3 tonight, and see what I come up with this time around. I still say rounds 3 thru 10 were so close they could've went either way.

I had pac by 1 point, the kd's kind of make it close since marquez won the majority of the rounds, that fight like the second one is so close that any close decision should be respected, a draw was a reasonable outcome despite of the error.

@McGrain I would have had it a draw too, because I had it at 6 rounds apiece. The 3 point first round is what pushed the scorecard to 114-111 for me, otherwise that was probably the first clear-cut draw I've ever witnessed in a fight of that magnitude.

I watched and scored the first Pacquiao vs Morales and the 2nd & Pacquiao vs Barerra (I) fights as well. The judges were absolutely right with the 115-113 scorecard for the first Morales fight. Pacquiao vs Barerra (I) was a blowout all the way until the knockout. I had Manny winning Pacquiao vs Morales (II) 87-85 leading up too the knockout.

I thought Marquez won the first fight by a narrow margin too. I had the second fight a draw and Marquez winning the third fight by several rounds.

Dont mind if you post your scorecards here on ESB. My opinion about the third fight goes against the majority, so I am a bit curious about new views on it.

I had him winning the first fight by a point, if I remember right.
