    How about it people?

If you were training a fighter to face floyd, how would you train them to handle Floyd's defense (shoulder roll). Let's assume the fighter is about the same size of floyd.

Would you have to pressure him into the ropes to nullify the distance he can lean/roll away from a punch? Would the fighter need an extreme amount of stamina to mount a consistent & efficient pressure to simply overwhelm floyd to the point where can't put together his calculated offense?

The reason I ask is b/c I just saw a clip someone posted of Floyd's shoulder roll versus a marquez combo. Considering the fact that marquez is one of the best combination punches today and nothing landed on Floyd, it seems like an interesting question.

I think the only way you're going to catch Floyd and hurt him is via counterpunching. Judah, Corley, and Mosley all landed their best shots when Floyd in mid-punch. Mind you, Shane did catch him with that bomb over the shoulder, but only because he feinted to the body first. That's why a good jab is crucial as well.

All about timing and feints. I would get Kosta Tszyu, in his prime he would catch Floyd, no question. How Mayweather would have dealt with it is another question.

Tackle his ***** ass. You wanna roll that shoulder? This is how I roll. Meet Mr. Canvas. Something like that. Though I suppose I'd be DQ'd. Probably worth it anyway. Great piece of conversation at a party.

No , its a combination of punch placement, jabs, feints. It depends what kind of fighter you are, what your style is / physical dimensions, etc. There are several styles that could potentially beat Floyd. But the Leonard - Floyd vid there is a perfect example how to take apart a shoulder roll. If you know where the gaps are, and how to neutralize them in that position you can totally destroy that defense.
