Hi i was just wondering this even if it is a somewhat stupid question atschbut does walking e.g instead of driving to work and back walking instead count as cardio and will it help lose weight. Not replacing Running with walking by the way
Yeah i figured that mate. Logicly im more active but still sounds weird saying walking will help me lose weight
It's weird? You're burning more calories than if you weren't doing anything which results in an increase in total daily energy expenditure, so I don't see how it's weird.
Walking is a very common method of weightloss, good thing to do on days inbetween training, keeps you moving but isnt going to strain you. I noticed that I recover quicker at uni and I think its due to the fact I walk everywhere usualyl 5 miles or so a day
Sure. Just compare the calories you burn driving the car to the calories you burn strolling to work or cycling. It sure beats sitting on your ass, that's for sure.
For an obese person or a 90 year old, yes. It's obviously not going to improve your fitness. But you are moving so you are going to burn energy, moving is better than not moving.
Cardio is anything that increases your heart rate to a certain level and MAINTAINS it. The heart is a muscle that will get stronger through working at a higher level than normal, and staying that way so that your resting rate becomes more efficient. So naturally its an Aerobic training through a long haul. I doubt walking will push it as much as running. Cardio however isn't directly related to weight loss.
I walk/jog to most places if i can. the walk is a good 7k. It obviously won't help you much in a fight but its sensible to approach to training. to loosen up, good time to go over your workout, get the feel for touch and movement if you've been inactive. it does get your heart going to a degree if you were unmotivated and lethargic generally a walk should boost your energy somewhat
During the years that he fought, Rocky Marciano walked everywhere all the time, and in the very early days, long morning and evening walks were a staple of training.
It does, at 24,000ft with 50lbs on your back , Also a brisk walk anyware is a good non impact way off keeping Fit. Or try getting someone 3 metres in front of you tied together, with woodys. One in front Running the one behind walking Faster than He wants , Both will get Fit :yep.
