Mike Tyson on today's heavyweight scene

I'm not talking about the weight. Tyson could carry alot of muscle for his height,
but at the same time the optimum weight in height and width being naturally higher for one boxer,
also means that he loses in some areas that can be taken advantage of, by the smaller man.
His punches will be slowed, his balance and general speed affected. Conditioning and volume of punches will also be affected by good chance.

Anomalies will be observed. But it's more due to certain genetics and so on as with tyson or maybe Ali.
I think Wlad and Vitali are also pretty athletic for such big guys

Again i agree that the good big man usually wins, but there are styles and parts of the fight game that favorize the good small man.

You seem to be very stupid about fat fighters and the 90's heavyweight division. So let me clear this up for you.

90's George Foreman was a fat pig but still beat the **** out of your 90's division!!!!!!!!!!!

Tyson's partially right. Of course it's not the k's fault that they are ruling the division. Yes they are top fighters but not impossible to beat. It is just the competition is so poor that it looks so easy for them. Now i like Haye and i wanted him to beat Wlad to shake things up. But as a boxer, he isn't technically very good. His overall technique isn't very good, doesn't have a good jab, has poor workrate and stamina and frequently lunges into punches. He is an athlete with very good physical attributes - speed and power. He just out speeds all the other slow heavyweights out there. He isn't a very good boxer at all and he is rated the 3rd best boxer in the division!

Tommy Morrison toyed with Foreman, as did Axel Schultz, who ended up getting robbed in the decision. It should also be noted that Micahel Moorer was easily outpointing Big George up to the 1-2 that Moorer walked into. That doesn't change the result but it does put it into perspective.

 

You were talking about David Haye, not Wladimir right? If so you're right. Haye's speed & natural power far outweigh his actual technique..............

 

A few thing about this quote;

1) How many new threads have to be made about this?

2) Klitlickers who only days ago was calling Tyson names like "thug" and "crackhead" not to mention questioned his intelligence, now proclaims him to by some type of boxing guru.

3) People never quote the whole article, they leave out why Mike did the interview in the first place . . . He was promoting a show. Now would it make more sense for him to seem gracious and generous or seem like some with a chip on his shoulder. It appears by saying kind things about the bros and the division that Iron Mike has created a whole new set of fans.

4) Its Funny because I bet the ones on here who NEVER have a nice word to say about Black fighters will be the first in line to see his show . . . yes Mike is a very smart man.


(Also, he said that he could beat today's heavyweights. Joe said he could beat Tyson and in reality it would be a pick'em fight. He is bigger than Marciano but he never said he was better (that was also being gracious).

The truth is that people that have followed boxing for decades and have seen many greats know Mike would have his way in today's division and that the quality in the division has diminished greatly.
