    Khan thinking that when a fighter gets close to him its no longer s boxing match but a shoving match is what ruined the fight for Khan.

    They scared Khan so he would fight on the inside.

    tbh i'd be surprised if cortez was more openly biased than cooper in the first fight.

    Cortez allows inside fighting, just not inside wrestling. Peterson doesn't wrestle on the inside.

    he's a **** ref...he's too picky & intrusive & he thinks he's the star...& he doesn't like inside fighting much...which obviously suits khan...

    but cooper was ****ing terrible man...no other boxing match has ever been reffed like that ever.

    Guess your right.

    All I am saying, Kahn vs Peterson will have enough controversy to topple Watergate. We will se some weird **** in that fight, I am sure of it.

    Just looked on the Scene. This isn't confirmed. All it says is "Veteran official Joe Cortez, who has a reputation for preventing inside fighting, is widely expected to take charge of the rematch."

    Hopefully there's no truth in it.

    The ref for the first fight was also rubbish -- scoring two knockdowns for Khan which looked like Peterson tripping, and then taking two points away for pushing, something I've never even seen done before.

    As for Cortez, he'll definitely stop a lot of the inside fighting, which clearly favours Khan. To be honest, I wish he would retire, along with Arthur Mercante Jr.

    Joe Cortez will let Khan to clinch Peterson all night long. Joe Cortez is terrible, and will make this a boring fight with more hugging than a UFC fight. I was planning to bet on Peterson by KO, but now that Cortez is refereeing, I will have to straddle Khan by KO. :nut

    petersons camp wouldnt agree to cortez if they thought he was "corrupt" like most of you ****wits do.

    In the maidana fight Cortez was helping Maidana, not Khan by splitting them when clinched anyway.
