Calzaghe-Pavlik would be a fight of the decade caliber

Pavlik is a honest good fighter. He aint Hagler, but he aint ****. His stock is artificially high due to his passport, but he still has a touch of quality. The issue is where would this figh take place. Pavlik hasnt got enough pulling power for the fight to take place stateside.

Calzaghe would probably shut Pavlik out

Pavlik really picked it up when Taylor started to gas out, something calzaghe doesn't do. Also, Calzaghe is much much better at dodging punches than Taylor. Also, Calzaghe is a sotuhpaw. Also, Calzaghe is naturally the bigger man.

The only thing Pavlik has going for him is age and power which is not enough..

 

This fight would end in no other manner other than a Calzaghe wide UD. Simple. I can't for the life of me understand why some people think Pavlik could Knock out or even come close to beatign Joe at 168 pounds, it's just not possible. Kelly is so immobile Joe would dominate him. Kelly would go back to his corner and not have a ****ign clue whats happening, all the while his trainer shouting for him to double jab. Sorry, does not work like that against Joe.

I think Taylor gives Calzaghe a tougher fight at SMW than Kelly.

joe calzaghe has the perfect sparring partner for a fight v pavlik.

enzo maccaranelli basically is a stand up ,left jab/straight right fighter.


you cannot get a sparring partner to mimic calzaghe , its a big advantage calzaghe has in fights.
