Probably more times than not figher a beats figher b beats figher c works out.

    Donaire>>Darchinyan>>Mijares

I'd be surprised if Mijares ends this one on his feet.

Damned too late to be posting. I thought you said good. I guess god with a little g through me.

Now we gotta start saying Mijares is a "g". Make sure to use the little g. :D

Donaire only fights elite fighters once every several years and Mijares isn't one of them. The most interesting thing about this matchup is the fact that Mijares looks Filipino and you seldom see two Filipino looking guys in a title fight.

Im going for a stoppage for Donaire....
Past couple times on TV, he hasnt stopped his fighter, versus the "Montiel" expectation of casual fans. I know when i get my pals over to watch a Donaire fight, they're expecting a vicious KO. They're still impressed with the speed and power he commits in his punches.

But i think there's a lot of pressure on him to sell a KO this time around...

this fight is happening? Mijares was fun to watch before he retired. Vic was a stylistic problem for him.

somebody bump the PacDBest-Amsterdam lifetime ban bet thread. they've been waiting for more than 4 years already for this fight to happen and to prove which poster is wrong and would leave ESB permanently.

mijares isnt koing anyone. He is a pure boxer with limited power.

Should be interesting though if he still has the skills he had before. He was on some people's p4p lists.

This seems like a showcase fight to me. Mijares has some name recognition, and is one a good winning streak. However, he's much smaller than Donaire, and he's been fighting subpar comp. Donaire's last two fights have not been very exciting . What better way to correct that than against a smaller opponent, who has chin issues, and has a tendency to be drawn into brawls? This fight has Donaire KO written all over it.

I'll say this - Mijares looked really, really good last night for anyone who missed his tuneup on TV Azteca. Strong & settled in at the weight. As fast as he was in his prime..

Of course, the guy he beat up wasn't fit to polish Donaire's athletic cup.
