The reason he didn't kill himself to make the limit is because he just doesn't give a ****. He's moving up after this fight to bigger and better things. Is it unprofessional? Yep. Do I give a **** as long as he beats Abril's ass? Nope. Abril started all this trash-talking mess and Rios is just serving up his own diss with missing the weight.

    I feel bad for Gamboa.

Dude just ****ed himself in the ass with his promoter, owes him money, looks bad to the media and boxing world, just got KTFO by a prospect, dude must be living in a hole scared to show his face(ain't it the truth), while Rios moving on to bigger things like Titles at 140, and JMM...

It's not that I feel bad for Rios, it's more of me not understanding the criticism that he's getting for not making weight.

If he knew all along that his next opponent would be Abril, then I'm inclined to think that Rios would have never agreed to face him at 135lbs. In fact, unless Rios was under the impression that he would be facing a 'marquee' opponent at the time in which the terms of a potential fight were originally negotiated, I highly doubt that he would have ever agreed to fight at lightweight again.

Take martinez, how do you think would beat him if the weight was between 157 and 163?

Over that the smw's might be too big. Below that he might be too drained.

Wow, that's a nice conspiracy theory you got there. :think Fighters especially Interim title holders show up to big press conferences like this all the time, to call out the winner or what have you.:deal

Top Rank gave Gamboa an advance and he verbally agreed to the fight. When it came time to sign the contract, they gave him one with an extension clause. He told them he wasn't signing it and that he wouldn't be attending any press conferences or fighting until they gave him one without an extension clause. They didn't, and they knew ahead of time that he wasn't coming to the presser, but they went ahead with it anyway. Then Abril just randomly shows up at the presser talking **** and they push each other... And now he's got the fight. Coincidence? I thinks not. :deal

Who knows, it could be true but the no face off at the presser and weigh in weren't planned. I think someone failed to let Rios in on the plot. :yep
