you cant be serious. bam bam lost that fight. he's extremely limited. no jab, poor footwork and he cant box from the outside. i harbor no ill will towards bam bam but he did not win that fight. abril blocked the vast majority of his punches. bam bam didnt even have a gameplan. unless u call putting your head down and throwing punches without looking a gameplan.

 

He still beat Rios.

 

His spoiling sucked, but he won eleven rounds.

Rios was absolute **** tonight, even worse than Katsidis yesterday.

It wasn't how good Abril was tonight. Abril wasn't anything special and his style of fighting isn't something I'd pay to watch.

This has more to do with how bad Rios is. He had no answer to anything tonight. He looked for the KO and nothing else. He did nothing to prevent the clench and the times that he was on the inside with Abril leaning on him, he didn't work the body. Rios is a one dimensional fighter. Hating on Abril for not conforming to the one and only limited style Rios has is looking at this wrong. The problem is Rios sucked tonight.

 

Not the prettiest style, but effective enough to neutralise Rios' high action style.

Jeez, show some appreciation for the sweet science. You're acting like the mindless trolls that frequently get banned. I'm a Rios fan and I'm embarrassed to say I am after that fight. He is a hell of a brawler. There aren't many guys in the world at 135 who can win a phone booth brawl against Rios. But that's not what the sport is about. Any time a fighter finds a way to neutralize his opponent's offense he's seen as a *****. Why is that? I expect to hear those things from casual fans, not from people who have been watching the sport for a long time. It makes you look and sound like you know nothing about boxing other than two guys standing in one place punching each other until one guy falls down.

 

Bam bam is a fuking fraud. He deserve to fuking lose tonight. He hsould have KOED abrio. I had no idea how he didn't get a knockout, I don't give a flying fuk if Abrio clinch to him like a big ass octopus, Rios was just not in shape and was like the walking dead.

they knew the super fight between them was on the cards so both cruise to victories (one undeserved)

 

The 100's of amateur fights experience Abril had was clearly evident in the fight, the way he knew how to use movement, distance, inside defense, angles and trying to keep his gloves up all the time, to really annoy Rios and not give him a static sweet spot to throw his best punches effectively.

Not beautiful, but enough to work.
