Considering the kind of cash I made on Pavlik, yeah it was easily worth the money.

 

You know things are not what they use to be when you hear the under card was OK. Boxing has taken such a downward trend some people dont remember PPV's like Benitez vs Hearns and on the undercard Gomez V Pintor.
this PPV was painfully dull and the fight to be honest wasnt all that either I have seen and experienced far better fight nights.

 

He's an aggressive boxer-puncher (who's always popping in and out). His poise is what impresses me more than anything. He always looks very comfortable no matter what is going on and is a patient, but explosive fighter. His handspeed and footspeed looks good and he put all of his opponents down and hurt them badly with one punch. His combinations look accurate and all of his punches are fluid.

The first time I saw him was on Telefetura a month ago and he was up against the worst fighter I have ever seen in my life, but his poise and patience still impressed me there and made me interested in him. I'm not sure if that fight is on the internet, but it was hilarious. The guy he was fighting missed a punch and spun around on more than one occasion in the first round, then got hit with a body punch and went down.

Sure, I would love to see them.

And as a little bit of trivia-the boxer that Jacobs is seen facing in the finals of the 2006 PAL, where Jacobs is in the red and white Everlast and his opponent is in the blue and white Everlast; on the back screen you can see Jacobs vs Nelson-that's Jonathan Nelson, none other than Ozell Nelson's son. He's another big 165 pounder, about 6'2-big enough to make 6'1 Danny look much smaller.

Damn, those combinations are fast as hell. Apparently Jacobs lost to Shawn Estrada (who's the MW representative for the U.S. team in Beijing this year) during the olympic trials in a close fight. Do you know about what happened? Also, do you think Jacobs will be fighting at 160 or 168 as a pro?

Jacobs showed nice speed and pop. As he steps it up, I'll be able to get a better picture of where he stands.

 

160. He lost the first fight extremely close; it was tied on points but Estrada won the tie breaker as he threw more punches. Estrada won the second fight by a much more comfortable margin. It won't make a huge difference; when he went international to the World Cup Jacobs got massacred by Matvei Korobov and RSCO'd in the second round. Team USA is going to Russia for two duals in the next 2 weeks or so, 6 Olympians and 6 alternates will be facing the Russian #1 team. Could be bad for the US, especially with Rau'shee Warren, Gary Russell not being there. Estrada isn't going either, he's being replaced by Dominic Wade from the Washington DC area, who lost to Jacobs at the Olympic Trials. Wade must only be about 17, I don't like his chances against Korobov. And he's not the most popular middleweight in USA Boxing.
