When people wonder why boxing isn't a mainstream sport then last night is why. Boxing is my no1 sport but today I'm just ****in depressed about it. Gives plenty people a good excuse to knock it. I thought the mafia had lost power to pull decisions in boxing?? Obviously not. I didn't bother watchin jmm either was so pissed off just went to bed
Its repeated at 3.30, I will give it a watch then, Iv'e read a few articles on it and everyone of them is saying it was a robbery. A lot of them happening lately it seems.
Wasn't a great fight only alright. Abril just did what he wanted and dictated the whole fight. Prob didn't take a clean punch the whole fight.
****ing hell, I definitely have to watch this, do you think Rios's weight issues played any part or was he just shite?
That can't have helped but Rios just looked ****, he hardly landed a clean blow all night. Abril boxed and moved effectively and tied him up on the inside, Rios had no answer. The only possible positive thing to come out of this is that if they've done this to save a JMM/Rios event that will backfire as JMM will ****ing destroy him.
Most people gave Rios a couple of rounds but I just didn't think anything he did was effective. Jim Watt probably had Rios winning.
A lot of people are saying that the judges scores AGAINST Abril for his holding, but last I checked that's not a valid reason to score for the other guy. Shameful stuff.
Trying to be positive about this event: Alvarado/Herrera was a really great fight, one bull**** scorecard as usual. Alvarado I thought did enough but it was really close.
Didnt seem his normal self to me, not as accurate & composed as he usually is. He still won fairly easily but it wasnt a vintage performance imo
Cheers Mo :good I half expected him to not be as good as the Pacquiao fight simply because of the opponent
