Biggest loser tonight: Richard Abril!!!

I agree. He got screwed over tonight. The other champions won't fight him at all now because hes high risk and no reward. He'll have to resort to moving up to 140 to become fodder for someone like Khan or Bradley. He's in the same boat with Lara after the Williams fight.

Cuban Boxing School !!! , even 2nd class boxers like Abril ( and I say 2nd due to his lack of punch , the rest he's pretty much legit ) can defeat so called " elite " oposition with ease , cubans always go in the ring with a plan and they have the discipline ( enforced on them from an early age ) to never deviate from that plan and see it trough to the end . Disgracefull robery , Abril finally has a name and he will get more fights in the future , of that Im sure . Congrats to him for his victory , now watch Cotto v Mayweather in May , Cotto and his Cuban trainer have a plan too so expect Cotto to get mugged too . **** Rios , ****ing bum all he does is trashtalk . i am watching the fight now and scoring it, i have rios winning 6-0,abril is doingnothing
standing there trying to be mayweather while rios is walking him down hitting him,
abril has no power and rios is blocking most of his shots

Jesus chrst, rios got taken to school, i think he landed 3 half decent shots in total.

 

Rios was well beaten here. Most of the blows he landed (left hooks up close) weren't delivered with sufficent force to be classed as scoring punches imo.
I thought from about the 4th ,as Abril took command, that he'd get robbed. It was easy to predict.

Abril EVT12 Rios

Abril completely schooled him. He outscored him from the outside & nullified Rios on the inside.

Fantastic performance by Abril, he was brave, he was brilliant & he clearly won the EVT

 

I thought a robbery was a strong possibility even before the fight started. Abril wins by boxing/running/clinching and not getting hit. He always lets the stronger, more aggressive, but inferior guy move forward. It's a smart tactical approach on Abril's part, but it's a formula that gives judges an excuse to rob him, if they have a motive to do so.

And of course, last night the judges had a major motive to rob Abril: that's because Rios was the promotional/TV star, not Abril.

 

Painful for a lot of people, but not for everyone. There are fans out there who love to see a boxer like Abril totally outslick the opposition....to watch him make an ass out of the aggressor. Hitting without being hit in return is beautiful in boxing, aesthetically.
