Hi guys, I have a fighter, recently turned pro in Malaysia. I'm looking for fights for him and having difficulty finding opponents/events in the region and so now I'm looking to Australia. Does anyone have any help they can give me? Of course, we're willing to fly over, we just want to fight. Anyone around 63kg / 140lb If anyone could help me out with contacts for event organisers, promoters, boxing clubs with pro fighters, etc, I would really really appreciate it. Thanks!
yes. ty is looking for his first pro fight. seriously. he had 50 amatuer bouts i think. he will want vid of his opponent... .
Just wondering what is amateur record and pro record? I have a friend involved in boxing that goes there regularly
He has had around 50 amateur fights, but no pro fights yet. He's just turning pro now and myself and a local promoter and trying to find fights for him. Would there be any value in you passing on your friend's contact? What is his involvement in boxing? Thanks a lot
Take note, Trixie. Ty is ready and willing to turn pro and he has comparable experience so this match-up should be straightforward. And he's likely willing to come to you, given that he has previously travelled to Thailand in search of an opponent. He is a little heavy at the moment but his natural weight is 63.5. Send him a pm, you won't be disappointed.
No problem. Sally should be credited with the suggestion. Makes perfect sense. Ty will definitely respond to your email but don't be surprised if he tries the old "I'm retired, I'm too old, the weight's not right" routine. He has done this plenty of times only to come back and announce that he's ready to fight and take on all comers. Very cunning. The self-proclaimed "Thunder from Downunder" claims he is part Kostya Tszyu, part Cus D'Amato. This has no doubt scared many an opponent off and made him almost impossible to match.
