Boytsov to challenge Klitschkos - September/October possible

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Kissan, Apr 17, 2012.

  1. Not with Vitali. Boytsov is not fighting him. Vitali is gonna have 2 or 3 more fights and he wants them to be good ones with good opponents. One of them will be Haye.

Does Boytsov have any real fans? I used to be really excited about the guy, but I don't know anyone can support him now. Dude's done nothing but fight old men and bums for years.

Boytsov is a very excellent boxer, with power and skills, but he is not ready for a Klitschkos, but is anyone?

glad those cocksuckers at universum are going bust.

It's a shame they're going to **** Boytsov over, but he probably deserves it.

Now I'm not sleepdrunk anymore. So I can translate some more things from the source:

Kluch: „I talked to Bernd Bönte about a potential fight against Wladimir or Vitali. I am confident that we get him in September or October."
Wladimir (36) himself asked Boytsov years ago. Boytsov: "He once send me a mail and asked me, whether I'm ready. I answered that I was and wanted it...."
On July 7th Dr Steelhammer has to face Tony Thompson first, he'll be available after that. As is his brother Vitali (40) after his torn tendon in his shoulder. Boytsov is ranked no2. by the WBC, right behind Chris Arreola, whom Vitali already beat up. Vitali's dream-fight against David Haye has not been made, yet, because of money-issues.
And Klitschko-manager Bönte said: "Of course, Boytsov is a potential opponent for both Klitschkos."

I agree with your point Boxed, but judging by how lethargic & lazy Boytsov was against Guinn, & considering his very short stature in combination with that listless lethargy, he'd probably lose to all of those ranked guys, even that dope Dimitrenko... Denis is guaranteed to suffer a brutal beatdown by Vitali. :ko

Doesn't have quite enough head movement. As it is, the Klitschkos are basically machines designed to beat fighters like Boytsov. If he could slip better and move in with a little faster step, throw big fast hooks over the top before getting tied up, like a young Tyson, it would be a different story. But Boytsov would be on the end of a jab all night long.

Fritz Sdunek says forget it re Vitali and Boytsov:

"Last Friday evening in Cologne, Russian heavyweight Denis Boytsov (31-0, 25 KOs) won a hard-fought unanimous decision over American veteran Dominick Guinn. Veteran trainer Fritz Sdunek was at ringside, as he was working the corner of the main event superstar, Felix Sturm. Sdunek also trains the man Boytsov would love to fight, WBC champion Vitali Klitschko. At this moment, the veteran coach doesn't give Boytsov any chance to beat Vitali or younger brother Wladimir Klitschko.

Sdunek had previously worked with Boytsov from the moment the figher turned pro in September 2004 - until the trainer broke away from working with Boytsov's promoter, Universum, in the fall of 2009.

"Considering his performance against Guinn, Denis would have no chance against Vitali. Boytsov still needs two or three more fights to gain the necessary confidence. I think that he is not yet ready for fight with Vitali or Wladimir," says Sdunek.

The problem is that he is not young Mike Tyson and he can't be like young Mike Tyson.Post prison Tyson was much more dangerous than Boytsov.
