Yeah he did back in 2004
The fight was arranged for early June but as the fight drew close Calzaghe pulled out claiming some kind of domestic dispute at home. The fight got pushed back a week, but as the date drew close Calzaghe pulled out again claiming some kind of injury. So the fight got pushed back a month and as the fight drew near Calzaghe pulled out again cliaming a bad back.

Team Johnson at this point had had enough and Waren forked out thousands to make up for thier wasted time and money.

Two years later the Lacy fight was arranged, as the date drew close Calzaghe would tell Waren that he has to pull out because he has broken his hand. Waren told him if you pull out of this fight your career is over. Calzaghe would agree to fight, steps into the ring and throws over 1000 punches. Their was nothing wrong with his hand he obviously had gotten cold feet and was looking for a way out.

For the record I do not believe he had three legit reasons to pull out of the Johnson fight.

The shot that put Calzaghe down was an accidental foul when wrist hit nose, it wasn't a punch that did the damage.

I don't know how the fight would have gone prime-for-prime, but a peak RJJ was way too accurate to miss with that shot, and I don't think that punch would have troubled Joe very much at all had it landed properly.
