For anybody who's seen the second Hopkins/Echols fight, Echols was already worried about dirty tactics and holding and hitting before going into the fight because he complained everytime to the ref to try and get Hopkins DQ'd and we all know how that fight unfolded. It was the most fouled filled fight in Hopkins career. Do you guys think Dawson will get frustrated like Echols did(considering Dawson's mental lapses in fights and the fact he was starting to get frustrated from the first fight) and constantly complain to the ref to get Hopkins Dq'd if things aren't working his way?

He will be broken down, and he probably will do something stupid.

People tend to forget that Dawson tried to throw Pascal down when Pascal had him in trouble during thier fight. :deal

i liked what dawson did, shoved off hopkins who was just lookin to spoil

i think hopkins over exaggerated his fall to draw a foul but got hurt doing it

dawson gave him a little shove and he threw himself up in the air

All this time I knew he did that to Hopkins out of frustration but now I know for a FACT that he's mentally fragile and will do something stupid again(kind of Like Tyson did in the second Holyfield fight) if Hopkins starts to take his weapons away. I personally believe Dawson is used to having advantages over every fighter he fights and can control the distance at range and out speed everyone(which he has) but when he faced with an opponent who can match his skill(Hopkins) or his speed(Pascal), he starts getting frustrated and doesn't know how to adjust(kind of like Zab Judah) but to make it worse, he seems to me like a sore loser based on the way he reacted at the end of the first fight with Hopkins by calling him a ***** over something HE DID.

That's a little rich, Hopkins has never been gracious in defeat, and don't start crying that he got robbed against Jermaine & Joe. The fact is he didn't do enough to win those fights.

I do think he can get in Chad's head, but you have to ask yourself will Bernard do enough if the fight goes over 12 rounds?

That's what this thread is about and no one is crying about any decision he's loss. The fact of the matter is, neither Taylor or Joe beat him decisively and there will always be debates about who won those fights. Now if they beat him where everyone knew Hopkins loss(like everyone knew he loss to Roy Jones in 93 and he even admitted it) than there wouldn't be any debating about it. And Bernard always does enough to win in fights,(you can't dominate everyone) he's a soild 12 round fighter.

Of course I have all Nard's fights on tape and that one deserved an oscar for the role of disqualification attempt but the guy got away with it, don't ask me why, and got KTFO. Dawson will soon get frustrated cause I can see in that face of his something inside him and that is that he really believes that he's gonna dominate so when things get tough, he ain't tough and he won't get going, he'll pull some move to try to cry out loud "Whyyyyyy???"

I agree with you to an extent, I am not sure he is solid over 12 rounds, I don't equate 45-60 sec per round as adequate against someone with a high work rate. I had Hopkins edging Taylor in both fights but only by a round, against Joe I just don't think he did anywhere near enough, his shots were cleaner and crisper but there were stages in the fight where he did nothing, I had Joe winning by a couple of rounds, but it was a pretty **** fight imo, neither fighter looked great.

I think Bernard pulls it out, I just don't see him outscoring Chad over 12. I think the only way to win is to spoil and frustrate.

I think we can all agree this will not be pretty.

Joe Calzaghe has insane stamina and probably has one of the best workrates in the history of boxing. There's NO WAY CHAD DAWSON is throwing over 1000 punches or getting anywhere near, especially against someone like Hopkins who is the best at neutrualizing a fighters workrate the way he controls the ring and the pace. If Dawson tries to launch that many punches in this fight, he'll get tired and Hopkins will dominate the second half. That would be stupid if he does that, unless he's hoping Hopkins legs get tired like it did against Joe but Joe is on another level in terms of throwing punches. So he better hope Hopkins shows his age if he's trying to accomplish that.
