He was always in a good scrape....fought in the greatest series of the junior featherweight division, will be linked to another dominant fighter in Marquez, 44-5(32 kos) incredible heart, combination puncher and bodypuncher also fought a great series with former champion Oscar Larios and won the series...beat 4 champions and won the lineal, WBC and IBF belts, three time champion....didnt have the best resume or the most skill but was a boxers boxer and everything good about the sport

For his otherworldly heart displayed in a number of memorable battles, I would have zero problem with it.

The hall of fame isnt just for the best who did it..........also you have to consider impact, popularity, heart, great fights a fighter is involved in, its not out of the question though....hell graziano, fenech, ingemar johansson, julian jackson got in....julian jackson lost to his best competition, he was just a great puncher with some skill

Yeah, it's a Hall of "FAME" not a Hall of best resumes or skills. He could absolutely go in. More likely than not get into the WBHOF, I'd think, and probably eventually the IBHOF.

Yes, absolutely, Fan fave, who got cut and fought hard, booming power in both hands especially his left and could turn a fight around whenever, had a couple of great trilogies (i'm ignoring the final and forth fight with Marquez), never backed down from a fight, always gave his all and if it wasn't for the gory scarring above his eyes he would still be a force today...

My favorite Mexican fighter of all time. I've followed his entire career and he always was overlooked in his big fights. The guy has the heart of a lion and was a true warrior. My only beef was going into a 4th fight with Rafael when he and his team knew his body was done.

    Of course.

Was in involved in one of the greatest trilogies (forget that 4th fight), was involved in many great wars, was the best 122lber of the past decade, and was one of the most exciting fighters to ever step in the ring.

    Izzy is the man.

He's more deserving than a lot of guys there. Hell, some people think Cotto is a sure Hall of Famer so why not Vasquez, who gave us some of the greatest fights of the 2000's ?
