Ok hi guys i need your help with something i am REALLY and i mean REALLY ashamed off. I am a fake account for another member, i did not want you knowing my real account, and i have lost my 1st 6 fights and i do not know what to do. I feel like im boxing at a weight where i am a bit too short but i can't make the weight below (i barely make this one). I also struggle with food an i occasionally binge, like today in the A.M i was supose to spar but decided to sleep in and know im binging all day instead of going to the gym/ group run) Can you please give me advice? Does this mean i should quit because i will never ever be anything? And please do not be mean or rude. Real account is Babyhug
If the reason you have trouble making weight is because you binge then you do not struggle with getting down to fighting weight. You struggle with discipline. Get coaches or someone who knows about nutrition to help you set up a diet and stick to it. And go to training everytime. A small improvement each week is better than 5 steps backwards and if you stay disciplined you'll reach your goals someday. Losing your first 6 fights is bad but not the end of the world. Amateur fights are for learning so you are in a better position than you were before you starting competing. Get dedicated in training and your diet and things will turn around.
What ever you do do not quite. I think we have all gone through a point similer to yours at least I know I have. I agree with the first post in geting some mentors to help. And don't feel ashamed of asking for help or of loseing. Every lose has a lesson you can learn from. Study your fights to find your flaws. For your sleaping In and eating try keeping a picture or something Hung up in your room that is reminds you constantly were you would like to be. It's good you can admit to your problems and now that you know what they are you can focus on fixing them good luck and sry for the long read Lol
I started binging recently. so thats not why i can not make the weight. The binging is more of i have urges which i ignore for boxing and after losing 6 in a row and never having won it just seems like for nothing and bang comfort eating. But thanks for the comment
I lost my first 6 in a row and am 9-5 since then. Maybe not a great turn around but could have kept losing more than I was winning.
My advice- First and foremost, go to the best trainer in your area. A trainer who looks after you and teaches you proper technique. offense and DEFENSE. watch fights get dedicated and disciplined cos it seems like your not. quitters never win, winners never quit
Ignore what I was getting at dropping down a division, then. Still, stop the binging. I know what its like and its not fun. You feel much more proud of yourself if you eat right and keep improving fitness. Look at it this way. Your 0-6 now. 2 years from now you could be 18-10, and beginners will be asking you for advice.
-_- Really? Do i ****ing know you? No! so why insult me (no offence aziz) What gave you the impression that was me. And Aziz/ babyhug il give you advice even if "you hate me". Ask your trainer for help or if you don't trust him move to another gym. Yes you should be ashamed of losing your first 6 losing doesnt feel good but keep at it and you will win. Remember boxing isnt about how good you are when you start but how good you are when you in our prime. In 5 or so years you could have a decent record and have won something. People will remember you winning the championship or w.e more then they will your first 6 fights. At the risk of sounding like a kid WHY DO YOU HATE ME??
Lol don't worry about it. just got me by surprise. My weight is ****ed up as in i use to box at 57 comfortably and then my body just wouldnt want to go to 57 anymore but im naturally smaller then 60kg. So i said **** it and il box at my natural weight which is 58-58.5 as a 60kg boxer. I suggest you do the same aziz and don't worry about height just box at your best weight (maybe weight is why you lost??)
There's more to boxing then being tall- work on improving things that allow you to be effective as a shorter fighter ... Lower centre of gravity for example
I know man but its a ****ing huge disadvantage at the moment for me. You always give sarcy answers and answer as if you know **** when a few months ago you were asking similiarly stupid **** to me
