every lists I've seen from reputable magazines and sites have Floyd listed higher. ESPN, Ring, SI etc.... and I agree with the experts. Manny's done some great things, as has Floyd but Floyd is great all around boxer that could've been an elite fighter in any era.

Hey great calls on Fitz and especially Greb. What they did is equivelent to Roy Jones beating Lennox Lewis. I think very highly of Tunney a fighter who holds his own in any era. Didn't he fight Greb 2-3 times?

That's because those magazines did their rankings years ago, before Pacquiao came up to welterweight. Ask anybody today who ranks higher, that includes boxing anaylsts, most or all will say Pacquiao. There is no argument to have Mayweather ranked higher, his resume is inferior period.

Not really..maybe when he was hype during 2009...these days, analysts look at Floyd as the higher ranked fighter, and the better of the 2...after pathetic outings with Shane and Marquez, and fighting an unranked Margarito, Pac has gone down IMO...yes you can down.

P4P lists have nothing to do with they're ATG ranking. Floyd might lose or look bad against Cotto, what then? Pacquiao KO's bradley, he'll be #1 again. Those things change everyday other day.

In the end people will look at their accomplishments, who they fought, who they beat, and how they did it. Pac has a better resume, it's that simple. Even if Floyd went on to beat Martinez and some more B level fighters he still wont surpass him.

Floyd had his chance to be great several years ago, but he chose to 'retire' instead and threw away the biggest fights of his career. Imagine Leonard retiring instead of fighting Duran, Hearns, and Benitez. These are huge question marks that he'll never be able to erase. Why didn't he fight a prime Cotto, Margarito, a younger Shane, Pacquiao, etc? They were all in his division when he was in his prime.

I know all this. I'm not a part time boxing fan, I know my ****...with that said, Floyd has accomlished more in the sport of boxing than Pacquiao has.

Cotto wanted no parts of Floyd when Floyd wanted to fight him...Also, Cotto was with Arum during Cotto's prime and that was not happening.

Margarito, LMFAO:rofl:roflMIGHT AS WELL ASK WHY HE DOESN'T FIGHT A PRIME SERGIO MORA OR SOME ****.:deal

He tried to get Shane in 99 and 06...Shane rightfully opted for a bigger money fight in Oscar instead of facing Floyd. In 06, Shane wanted no parts..Floyd was on ESPN in 06 saying he wanted to fight Mosley in November and than whoop his boss, De La Hoya..Shane declined the fight.

Pacquiao makes every excuse not to fight Floyd.:deal

Floyd has accomplished more in the sport of boxing...Arum has made this false view that he hasn't, and the media monster, ESPN, sold the idea in the first place and seems to want to keep it out there for now...till they fight at least.

Floyd fights the higher ranked fighters these days too.

Floyd has not fought an unranked top 3 in there division and/or top 10 in the world since his fight with Mitchell...the same can't be said for Manny.

How? Pacquiao has more belts, more lineal belts, more belts in more weight classes, beaten better fighters, has more ATG's on his resume. He's gotten a ton of awards including fighter of the year multiple times back to back, fighter of decade, etc.

What besides Floyd's undefeated record could you say is superior??

Nobody cares about any of this ****. The bottom line is Floyd didn't fight them, and he needed to if he wanted to secure his legacy. That's what people will remember. And people outside of the Floyd bubble know he had a lot to do with these fights not happening.

Your staying "narrow viewed" if you don't look at "why." An argument can be made for Cotto...but he was still with Arum

Floyd has fought more world champions...he has never looked as vulnerable against an opponent, as Manny has looked against Marquez. He has never been knocked out, nor knocked down (by a punch). Pac's fight game is limited, Floyd's is not.
The "0" your speaking of is not like a JCC Jr "0" or anything like that. It's your opinion that he hasnt fought top competition, but in reality he has only fought one fighter in the last 7 years who was not ranked top 3 in their division and/or top 10 in the world. If you look at top 10 lb 4 lb fighters, they are equal there.

He hasn't beaten better fighters, Floyd has. He beat a #3 lb 4 lb in the world Barrera, I give him his due credit there...So again, Floyd will be looked at as the higher ranked fighter, ESPECIALLY with wins over Cotto, Pacquiao, and Martinez.:deal

Floyd has also beat 18 world champs, while keeping that "0."

Pac has more belts? Take away the catchweights and then talk to me about that. I don't consider Pac's belt at 140 or 154 legit, unless we include the ring belt at 140, which he took from Hatton...and that fake 154lb belt he won is not legit.

Note-Skill is part of an "ATG" status...Though not everything, it still is. Floyd's skill level is levels above Pacquiao's. Floyd is also the GOAT at 130 lbs. Pac never dominated a division like Floyd did at 130.

Name Pac's ATG's on his resume....

When you look at Ali losing to Spinks, late in his career, you look at "why did he lose." He was past prime and old..beat him the next fight sure..but still past prime and to old. You can't just take the "why" out.
