Why can't promoters pitch to Sky on an individual card basis and secure the spot on the strength of that card. Chucking all your eggs into one basket is moronic as it will inevitably lead to a sub standard product.

I wouldn't worry he'll get a TV deal based on his name value.

Look at Channel 5 loving the 'Chris Eubank' name. They'll love having Ricky Hatton alongside that. I can see Hatton signing to channel 5 and taking one of our (hopefully) Olympic medallists with him - that'd be right up C5's street.

Was the Quigg-Munroe card made with a view to impressing SKY's bigwigs?

    Hatton>>Maloney

I think Matchroom have Frampton too - he will be headlining soon.

If Hatton ends up on channel 5 it will be the best thing to happen to boxing in years. The public still know him and he is a household name.

He's got 3 unbeaten fighters in Quigg Vassell and Towers to work with.

Could be the start of something good.

A way in for him would be a Fury-Towers fight, sort of like a trial for him (even though it'd be a Hennessey show) if he promoted the **** out of that fight and got more viewers than Fury-Chisora - they'd offer him a deal IMO.

Following that I think McGuigan would jump at the chance to have Frampton v Quigg/Munroe on Channel 5.

Martin Murray is there as well.

So does this mean Sky are out of the market for a Frampton/Quigg fight?
A year well spent building up that one then.

Hatton-Channel 5 would do wonders for publicity.

Shame he never fought on terrestrial. Amazing he became as famous as he did with Sky/PPV only!

    His name carries!

Not surprising. Hatton's stable is garbage.

Your naivete and love for Hearn amazes me. It's NEVER good having less promoters on TV - it dilutes quality.

Timing couldn't be worse for Crolla... if he's tied into a Hatton deal he's now coming off a loss and facing the prospect of boxing on a small hall show somewhere for his comeback. Looks like he'll be at his mum's for a bit longer. Same goes for Matty Askin.

    :huh

    Murray
    Munroe - fringe world level

Quigg - stepping up to Euro level (ish)

    Gary Buckland
    Crolla
Vassell - Right up there at British level

    Richard Towers
    Joe Murray
    Matty Askin - Prospects

I think that's a pretty respectable stable - far superior to Maloney's (really only Price and McDonnell)
