When is Mayweather ever in a great fight? He went up to 54 when he really wasnt even much of a welterweight and beat DLH pretty good. I think it was a pretty gutsy move on Floyds part, a fight he doesnt get too much credit for. You cant expect him to stand and trade with DLH.

I think if Floyd today faced that same DLH it would have been more of a slugfest because Floyd seems to be more comfortable now as a 47 pounder. I think the fight with Cotto will be pretty exciting too.

Great fight from both guys, DLH did quite well, fmj won it by pulling away in the last 3rd tho... by a couple of points, roughly.

Floyd pulled out some elite tricks there and captured the win, but this fight exposes his flaws better than any IMO.

no matter his abilities or how fervent his fans are, he was losing the fight when oscar used that jab

Mayweather won the fight clearly. Oscar did alright but Floyd picked off more of his shots if you look closely at the fight, especially the body shots.

Mayweather's best victory with a very underrated performance.

If you watch the fight clearly, you can see he limited Oscar's jab by jabbing back.

Oscar split the rounds with Floyd in the first half, but Oscar didn't manage to win anything in the later half once Floyd figured him out.

Mayweather lost rounds being too cautious. In this fight at this time he should have won almost every round. His style always has an edge over Oscar because both are counterpunchers yet Floyd is faster. What Oscar had over Floyd was a jab, and that would be the way he could beat him in his youth.

De La Hoya did have success with the jab. Great fight.
Floyd clearly won. I think I scored it 116 112 Floyd.
Definitely some close rounds. Floyd started to pick
Apart Oscar down the stretch.Oscar gave floyd trouble.
Oscars left hook wasnt fast enough to be a significant
factor at that stage of his career. Prime for prime Oscar
is dropping Floyd with that left hook. A faded Oscar gave
money a run for his money.
