I think time will tell. If calzaghe does manage to fight the new brigade then he goes very high in my opinion. Was more impressed with Pavlik in the rematch than I thought I'd be and I think that would be a hell of a fight. Of course we don't know how many or who he'll fight from here on in. As for Hatton, he deserves credit for taking Mayweather on but how limited he is was shown up by the fact that he thought he could just steamroller mayweather. I admire his heart but calzaghe is in a different league talent wise and hopefully he now fights the right fights to prove it. Although one thing that is being forgotten here is that Hopkins is ranked higher than Calzaghe in the p4p rankings and is seen as the No 1 light heavyweight in the world so its actually an obvious fight to be made. They are both in the top 5 p4p so I don't have a problem with it
I can't be bothered with you. And one thing is for sure, you are not changing anyone's opinions on Joe Calzaghe, so it's all pointless.
i don't either. but how much more interesting and legitimate would it have been 8 years ago? also, regardless of hatton's performance look at him as a person and (i think) see how big it was of him to take the path he did and take the floyd fight. hatton has impeccable character in my opinion and, in the boxing game, that's worth a whole lot.
Yes, it is, and it's my choice whether or not I come to a message board and take **** from some new guy demanding and daring me to read his posts and "react" to them, as though this is some kind of competition. I am writing posts and trying to discuss things with everyone rationally. You took offense to something that I disagreed with which was posted by someone else. Sick of the bickering now. Goodnight. Take it easy. Welcome to the forums, etc.
i never take offense. but i'm use to people not being able to stand up to their own ideals. you'll get use to me but i do speak my mind and i will challenge your point of view. it's not to pull people down but if you don't know how to defend your point of view then i guess you'll feel this way. i'd much rather you said your mind than caved in like this - but that's your choice.
How much homework have you actually done on Calzaghe because for a Calzaghe fan you ain't half trying to make his career sound worthless, those were the fights that Calzaghe always wanted, none of them wanted to know until they had nothing to lose which of course is now. Name a fighter who would cement Calzaghe's legacy once and for all?
calzaghe always wanted jones and hopkins and actively pursued hopkins before he took the kessler fight. to imply that i'm implying that his career is worthless is, IMO, taking the blame away from warren. but his career isn't 'worthless'. but he has been an eternal underachiever because he stuck with warren. if you disagree with me i'd like to hear why...
