we'll never know, we all know Money doesn't fight real threats or anyone for that matter in their prime, this is all fantasy land. MOSLEY BEAT A PRIME DE LA HOYA 2000 Staples Center *****! Mosleys win over a 2000 De La Hoya trumps Money's whole career.

i honestly do believe so, the gloves size adds to both fighters, Now i may have been exaggerrating the fact that its as bad as cramps but i still don't think its a viable excuse. I respect your opinion as you do have very insightful and unbiased posts.

they were just nrmal 10oz gloves that are worn in that division.

If Mayweather didn't like them, then why did he make Hatton fight him wearing 10oz goves, even though that was a 147 fight?

Mayweather just want his biggest payday. He knows he can beat Oscar whatever way thats why he let Oscar call all the shots.

    Young Oscar had:

-superior Jab to Maywether, and we all saw how Oscar's faded jab troubled Mayweather
-Was way faster than the faded version Mayweather fought
-Had way more snap in his punches
    -was more versatile
    -lighter on hi feet
    -better combination punching
-willing to take more risks if need be
    -Impecable chin as always

A very faded version of Oscar who was more than 5 years removed from his prime managed to get lose a close decision to Floyd and busted his face in the process like no other fighter had... A prime Oscar who fights him intelligently beats him convincingly.

true this is one of those fights were you gotta consider all the factors. it was at light middleweight when ODLH was past it but Mayweather was also a couple weight classes above his best weight (lightweight)

The fight wasnt even close. DLH had some inneffective flurries early while Floyd took a look, then it was all Floyd.
DLH when younger and fresher would have been a better opponent, but would still have lost.

Floyd would still be to quick...Oscar had trouble finding his shots...Floyd was able to place leather on him as he pleased...Oscar was wreckless back in the early 2000's as he was in 2007.

Oscar was 34 and people were calling him "old." Floyd is 35 so is he old? And if your answer is "no because his style allows him to fight longer," well that's Oscar's bad then..thats a flaw in his fight game and his skills...not Floyd's fault.

I scored De La Hoya-Mayweather 7-4-1 even, 116-113 for Floyd.

Interesting that you bring that up. Floyd today is pretty much in the same spot Oscar was back then. Older, doesn't fight as often... even Floyd fans acknowledge he's not the same fighter today as he was as a younger man when he was more active. He was better, just as Oscar was MUCH better in his earlier years. If Floyd loses/has a really bad performance before he retires, I'm sure people will say that. And just as they said it about Oscar, they'd be right.

Oscar in 99 / 00 would beat the Mayweather of 07.

Even in 07 Oscars legs had gone .

On another note how would he have done against Vernon Forrest in 07?
