Yeah, the only effect on young from Molitor is probably they're going to play hockey instead of boxing.......For now the best we have is Logan McGuinness, but I'm still not sold on him. Anyway, Ontario suck at so many levels, not only in boxing, but I'm probably biased since I'm a FRANCO-ontarian....:yep

I say let you guys separate like you keep promising youll do, and then the rest of Canada can laugh at you guys when you come crying back because France doesnt want anything to do with you people. Unless Phoenix goes to Quebec City and the Nordicks come back, then I would rather uebec remain in our country for a bit, just so we can have another team for a bit. But other than that, Separation would be the best thing. The idiots that voted YES could see what it would actually be like being their own twisted country that no one in the rest of the world would like anyway.

Do you realize how dumb you look? First you write that Quebeckers are racist about the rest of Canada. Then you write such a post, full of hate and ... racism.

:good I don't even have to say a word, you do all the work by yourself.

I let you another chance to look better. Try to say something intelligent this time.

lol hold up a second, why would they want to separate?

alaska has a separatist party, and they are generally viewed as right-wing loons. . . .

certainly they benefit more from being part of canada, than becoming a separate, and independent governing body; essentially a "new country"?

i guess there are arguments both ways?

It's an old story... for politics, Quebec are near to Scottish and Irish, far from Alaska.

Different language, different culture. There is really not a lot in common. It's like asking why Canada and Mexico should be separate (they are both in North America and NAFTA aren't they)

Alaska has a pretty small population and a ridiculous amount of natural resources, mainly oil; much of which the US government puts off limits. I never thought of them seceeding before, but can see their point.

I'm glad somebody brought this up, as I've been curious about the Montreal fight scene for a while. More questions for Laffie and crew:

Outside of Bute or Pascal cards, how is the scene? Are there more cards now than before, and if so, how well are they attended?

nothing at all like that, actually. . .

Mexico, and Canada are separated by another country. . . Nor have Mexico, and Canada been part of the same country for the past few centuries.

I doubt the culture is much different between north, and south in USA. . . West coast (California is basically like a country of it's own too). . . I could go on, and on. .

However, it's these cultural differences, stark contrasts, and almost polar opposites in lifestyle, political beliefs, cultural norms, etc. that make a country so "complete", and unique. . .

Just seems a little arrogant to want to "secede" - just my opinion. . . But then again, I don't know the entire situation, so I'm not drawing any conclusions. .

The separatist party in Alaska used to be supported by Sarah, and Todd Palin - it's "that" type of person who wanted Alaska to secede.

Actually, there are less cards than before. Pascal and Bute don't fight on small cards and the Casino of Montreal, where GYM had many cards per year is under construction. That was a small place but pretty packed. GYM now presents their smaller cards at the Bell Center (different configuration than for the big cards) 3 or 4 times a year. Quebec city has some cards though but Pier-Olivier Côté and even Kevin Bizier are taking the same path than Bute and Pascal (I don't know if that will be successful or not though) and therefore won't fight in small venues anymore.

It's like if many small cards had been replaced by a couple of very big cards.

It is not a big boxing scene but Quebec is only an 8 million people province.

Thanks. Sounds like how SoCal is getting. We used to have fight nights all over the place, now it's more just HBO/Sho every now and then.

There is absolutely no link between Alaska and Québec. Québec's values, traditions, language and even legal system are a lot different from Canada's.

The federal government hardly represent Quebeckers' interests, especially now with a conservative PM who just realised he doesn't need Québec to get his majority.

    And no, separatists aren't all Palin-like ******s.

Makes me sick to read Quebeckers writing crap like Canada and Quebec are different. That's like saying Ohio and The USA are different. Or almost like Loughborough and England are different. Instead of embracing the differences between PROVINCES, these arrogant, stuck up radicals hold referendums to leave the country. It's the years of them proclaiming their superiority to the rest of Canada (vaguely hidden, and notice I wrote REST OF CANADA). After all their bitching and complaining, many Canadians would rather just see them go now. I for one will have my happiest moment as a Canadian if they are able to be kicked out of our country, be snubbed by France, and beg to come back. Or maybe the rest of us can just join The new country of Quebec and we can live off their government programs for once and have them work for the rest of us, stuck up Bloc's.
