That is the claim haters? He has been ducking him since 2007?

Cotto doesn't seem to think that...

"I didn't think about him because he was a great champion, he was a guy who was above me on all levels," he said.

Well, Floyd didn't fight him a few years ago when Cotto was still unbeaten , when the fight would have been more interesting. Now he's just fighting a guy that was already destroyed by another guy that Floyd refuses to fight.
Kind of the same deal that Floyd is pulling with Pac now, except people are challenging his decision not to take Manny on. Like Larry Merchant for example , who Floyd runs from in terror.
But now Floyd has the steroids excuse, which his fans have cast in stone as the truth.
Shame, because years form now, instead of fans remembering his great skills in great fights with Manny and Martinez, Floyd will be remembered as the guy who avoided his biggest challenges, made up rumors about guys he didn't want to fight, and ran away from a little old drunk journalist , just like a little **** would.

Floyd offered Cotto a fight back at 140 and was turned down. Cotto wasn't ready is what they said. So if you are going to hold Floyd accountable then you should hold Cotto accountable as well.

Cotto telling the truth. Then you add in the Arum factor and we have no fight.

But it's all mayweather fault. lol

Mayweather's only thought about Cotto since Cotto has primed, refreshed, rejuvenated, enyoungnhungered and fully hydrated himself. Why? Because Money only fights prime fighters coming off of spectacular performances that aren't in catchweight fights. Fact.

So many people bring this up as if it mattered much. Team Cotto admitted Floyd was too much at the moment they were both at 140. Nobody is denying that. However when the demand for the fight was at its highest and Cotto was more than willing to fight him it was Mayweather who was unavailable to negotiate the fight because he was retiring (only to comeback later).

They're both responsible for refusing to negotiate the fight at earlier stages of their careers, but a lot of Floyd fans don't admitted. Maybe it's because at the time Floyd did it we missed out on a very high demand fight and because he had already developed a slight reputation of avoiding some tough fights that fans really wanted to see.

I have learned that if you are not liked by the "general public", then those same people will give NO MERIT, NO VALIDITY to any and everything that a "certain someone" does and/or says. Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, Roach and Bob Arum can all sign documents written in their own blood stating that they never wanted to fight FMJ. In fact they could all have photos taken while signing this documents then signed by a notary public. Fans (general public) will still have the same Consensus Opinion...

Exactly, Cotto already admitted that he never tried to pursue a fight with Mayweather and yet people want to say its Floyd;s fault that the fight never came off.

Floyd Mayweather has the distinction of being the only fighter in boxing history that was ever "afraid" of Miguel Cotto.
