Why are people saying Floyd will stop Cotto! It's just nonsense! Your opinions...?

The fight is @ 154... Floyd is not a power puncher @ 147! Only his lovers are saying this BS.. Cotto actually has a better chance of winning by stoppage to be honest!

 

Comparing Cotto's chin to Shane's is a crime in and of itself.

 

I don't think it's nonsense. I think that we all can see that there has been some sort of transformation with Floyd. He wants to be a pressure fighter who sits down on his shots. Miguel Cotto is going to hit Floyd very hard and Floyd is going to respond with a vengence. He's fighting more flat footed and planting your feet is a way to generate more power. He will sit down on his shots. Cotto will throw a combination and try to bounce around on his toes. Floyd will stick him with a sharp right hand that will put Cotto in trouble. Once that happens, Floyd's going for the kill.

He's out for blood and he wants to excite the fans. We all know that he can box so we get excited when he has his opponent crawling around on the canvass. Floyd by KO. 10 count KO. :deal

 

Your example of Shane is a bad one, Shane has never been stopped.

Its not clear cut as to whether he will be able to stop him.

For instance its not out of the realm to think he could stop him on cuts or TKO him the referee stopping it as he is taking too much punishment.

Also Mayweather could stop him ala Hatton if Cotto keeps coming forward trying to be aggressive.

In all honesty I dont expect Mayweather to go after Cotto with the intent of stopping him, but Cotto hardly has a granite chin he has been down before and has been rocked several times too.

 

I've been saying this for a while. Cotto has a solid chin. He took a lot of shots from Margarito and he finally brought him down at the end, but Floyd who is not known for his power will definately not stop him.

Expect a pitty pat decision for Floyd.

 

Cotto's reaction to taking punches has deteriorated over the years. He has never liked being hit to begin with, and those fights with Marg and Pac have made it worse.

Against Mayweather, he'll be eating straight rights and hooks all night. The way he keeps his head/eyes down to the floor (almost blinding him of what's coming his way) whilst coming forward with a penetrable guard, spells for trouble against the most accurate puncher in the game. His soft face will do well to stand up for the punishment for the full 12. I mean, even a desperate one-eyed Margarito with his grazing arm-punches whilst chasing, had him marked up noticeably.

A Mayweather stoppage is more likely than a Mayweather close win.

 

I don't like Mayweather on bit at all, but you guys that don't think Cotto is going to be pulverized, brutalized and K'nocked are thinking with your heart and not your head. Floyd will hit him any time he wants. He's too fast for Cotto. Cotto will be busted up and made to look very old in this fight. Too bad because he is a class guy, but he's to slow on his feet, and his hands are just as slow. I want to see a miracle, but it ain't going to happen. This is guaranteed, so go ahead and bet your home, car, retirement, job or wife on this fight. Cotto will be stopped. Guranteed! Hit me back on this guarantee once the fight is over and tell me I was right. I have been right on all championship fights even the The Mike Tyson/James Buster Douglass fight. I been right 99% of the time.

Thank you for these posts, they are bringing people back to reality. I like Cotto and all but it is what it is. People (me included) get caught up in the build up and the 24/7's and the highlights and forget that Ricardo Mayorga and over the hill Margarito were landing on cotto and giving him some difficulty. I can see Floyd landing 2-3 punch combos like he did with Shane and the ref saying that he has seen enough. I hurts me to say what I just said but it is the truth.

Last time I checked, Shane got dropped by Pac too, and then gave up and ran the entire night. Miguel stood toe to toe, and took the punishment like a man...and pac felt it too...
