Marco Huck vs. Ola Afolabi - Rematch signed for May 5th in Erfurt, Germany

I like Huck in this one. He seems to have worked on his hand speed and it showed wih Povetkin.

 

Hoping Afolabi sparks him

 

I think he has to. The judges will probably be against him and even though he's become more aggressive in his last fights, he is still prone to getting outworked.

Ola hurt Huck quite clearly in the middle rounds of their first fight. Unfortunately, it was towards the end of the round so he couldn't capitalize.

I'll go with the consensus - Huck close UD - but it could easily be close the other way around or a KO for Afolabi. He has very underrated power - you could see it in his last fight, where Brudov was visibly in pain - and nice variety in his punches. He's developed/sharpened up the jab and has started to go to the body much more, which is a welcome addition to his excellent but over-used right hand counter.

Huck, though, gets tons of **** but is quite efficient at what he does. I hate his style but his guard has become better. The openings for body shots are still there (Lebedev cracked him with plenty of hard right hooks which hurt Huck some) and Ola could take advantage.

Ola was pushed into a shell in the first fight, which is common for Huck opponents. He punches so hard that it id hard to dare to counter. Much like AA, the consequences if you fail can be severe. Will Ola dare to counter him this time? I don't think it was just stamina and wrong mental approach that made him inactive last time out.

Huck has inactive spells and Ola should use them. Then he could weather the storm by shelling up, because Huck was actually very ineffactive against Afolabi last time out. Ola smiled at him and didn't look uncomfortable. Huck won mainly on aggression (though linked to his power no doubt).

Everyone had the feeling after the fight that Ola was better and would beat him with different tactics/dedication. Let's hope he does so now, because I really like his skills. He has potential. Ola vs Lebedev or Hernandez are good fights.

 

I got no hate for Huck but the new improved(read conditioned and focused)Ola has the tools to take him and YPH out.
