I took delivery of a couple of autobiographies this morning, Harry Holland's and Johnny Nelson's.

    Anybody read them yet?

Also I can thoroughly recommend Barry McGuigan's one, one of the best ones I've read:good

I already liked Mcguigan, but the book definitely gave me more respect for his achievements

I know he isn't the best on an autocue, but I really like the bloke, proper pro who did it the hard way

In The Ring With Bob Fitzsimmons by Adam Pollack is my favourite.

Johnny Nelson is a genuine good guy off camera. Totally unassuming and always good with fans.

I haven't seen that one yet; I've got Prize Fighter (The Life and Times of Bob Fitzsimmons) by Dale Webb.

Also recommend Primo by Frederic Mullally and Unforgivable Blackness by Geoffrey C Ward (I also have the 3 hour documentary that is based on the book, brilliant).

Loads will already have read it, but for those that haven't, Dark Trade is the best boxing book I've read.

Good to hear, he certainly seems that way, that's why I've been surprised at some of the criticism he's received on here.....:huh

Yes I've got that, actually one of the first boxing books I bought, good read:bbb

I read the Johnny Nelson book a few weeks ago .... and even though he had a good interesting career, I found the book to be lightweight fluff. Nearly 300 pages but with quite a big typeface, I read it in a single day.
